ADD+Marijuana? Doctor?

I wasent really sure where to put this so I'm sorry if this is the wrong section.

So for a couple months now I've been looking into ADD because I feel like I may have it and would like to get it checked out. My father does have it so I'm thinking I may of gotten it too. I'm thinking about going to my doctor but he know's I smoke marijuana and I'm not sure if he'll prescribe me anything knowing this. I'm just wondering, If I do go into the doctors, do you think he'll prescribe me an ADD Medication knowing that I smoke marijuana?

If you have A.D.D best bet is to just stick with the green. I was diagnosed in grade 5 or 6...it sucked, pills in the morning pills at lunch It was Ritalin at first then Dexetren??... can't spell it...... plus It makes you not hungry i never ate lunch at school after i started taking it. It lasted til high school until i started blazing then... i either grew out of it or marijunana was a great help

Well In my early years as a teen I had experienced with Adderall, and I noticed that it actually helped me a lot during school and felt great. Marijuana just dosent cut it for my possible ADD, It actually just makes me even more not able to pay attention and concentrate.

DAMN, same thing but i got the ritalin @ 2-3 grade, same shit here

Exact same experience, there have also been a couple studies on it. One recent one documented better driving by adderall users after medicating with weed than before.

I think I heard somewhere that doctor's are not legally allowed to prescribe a scheduled substance if they have knowledge that you already abuse one.

Well, I havent smoked for a while now and my urine is clean, So If I tell him I've stopped smoking, Would he be able to give me the medication then?

I also have that mate, if I don't get high then I am so hyperactive it's unbelievable.

First i was diagnosed with add. i was put on pills. after seeing the same doctor who would just basically give me the pills without question i switched to a new clinic. it all depends on the clinic policy. healthpartners thought it would be great to piss test you if your new and want stimulants. so just watch out for that. ps: according to my doctor if your taking add pills or being treated for add you can drink as much as you want but weed is supposed to really mess with you and/or make the supposed mental effects worse.

I have ADD.....pretty badly. It's hard for me to focus when I havent been smoking. I tried the prescribed meds in highschool. Not fun. Turned me into a zombie. Not an immobilised zombie, more ofa crazy, rampaging left 4 dead type zombie.

My doctor won't acknowledge this though, he says Cannabis is illegal, blinded by Government legislation and regulation. They tried to put me on ritalin when I was 14, refused, coincidently, I started getting high the same time. Although many will frown upon such a young person smoking cannabis, I can honestly say I'd have been expelled for being a little shit without Mary Jane :) Got decent grades in the end with a two finger salute to the teachers.
