Add Soil

Here is a really dumb question, I am in the starting stage of flower. I filled my pots with soil and now the soil has settled 1.5 to 2.5 inches down from the top
Of my grow bags. Should I put more soil in each bag? I am growing feminized plants. I kept them in the veg state for 6 weeks.

Thanks to all that respond.

Absolutely...or you could wait until just b4 the soil in now is beginning to deplete of nutrients, you could add it then...totally up to you.

I try to do that every time wi photo periods. If you have a good aerated super soil than after a month or so of veg there will be some settling. I top dress dry nutrients, Then throw an inch or 2 of fresh super soil on top of that. And water it in. Then boom plants have food for at least 3-4 weeks. Water n molasses in between for hydration. It's an easy way.

You guys in the last 2 posts are talking about using soil that has nutrients built in the soil? Correct? I have not used that yet. I am still searching for and trying different ways to grow. But as a fairly new grower and still figuring out the differences between growing auto and photo periods with full intentions of continuing to grow both, I am looking for formulas that fit both and trying proven methods.
With super soil and soil recharge, do you still use added nutrients to get good quality smoke?

You can regardless if it soil or promix or whatever. Roots will sprout out of whatever stalk you've covered up with soil. Since you've already started flower I personally wouldn't. Root growth stops around the same time as the stretch so you aren't going to get a massive amount of root growth in the new soil at the top of the pot.

No, I was only asking the previous 2 posters, if they were using soil with the nutrients already in the soil. The sales person at my supply store mentioned it. I think he called it Super Soil. I might of misunderstood him, but I think he said it is ready to go, and perfect for Auto Flower plants.
I think he said you can grow without adding anything, like it was ready to go and you did not need to add anything. The soil I am using has enough nutrients for 2 to 3 weeks.
Sometimes it is hard to figure out, just exactly what you need to grow good weed. Or if your sales person is just trying to make a sale.
I am using Biotabs on this grow. Supposedly you put a couple of these large tablets in the soil all you need to do is add water.
If Super Soil (soil already with nutrients) exists, I might use it in the future.

I started off indoor growing using TGA Subcools super soil recipe about 15 years ago. Using pre fertilized soil isn't a bad shtick. I don't have any experience with any of the pre-made stuff like fox farm. Some people like it. I do see a lot of people posting problem threads when it comes to pre fertilzed soil grows. Though I think a large part of that is novice growers who overfeed by introducing extra additives.
I switched to using promix and dyna grow foliage after seeing some uncle Ben threads probably 7-8 years ago. I haven't had a deficiency or burn problem with that combo in the entire time.

You can add soil to the space left by settling. More soil volume = more volume for root growth. Always a good thing.

Supersoil is just a term used for heavily pre-amended soil. You can buy it or mix it yourself. Supersoil + sub-irrigation = ultimate low maintenance growing. You can take a 10 day vacation and the only things you have to worry about are power failure or your plants growing into the lights.
