Adding humidity in grow room?

Hygrometer stats: right nows humidity is 37 percent. Low of 33 and high of 40 percent which was earlier today. Air temp is 57 degrees now which is the lowest it's been and high of 70 with electric heater running but it cooled down quick. Water temps run from anywhere 58 degrees to 65 the warmest I seen. I live in Michigan and it's still pretty much winter. Snow still and cold out. It will warm up some down there in the summer but will remain the coolest spot in the house in summer without an air conditioner. I read about the wet towel method as to which I just did in my room, will check my hygrometer tomorrow to see if it brought it up and if I need more towels or not. But I was wondering about basic science. When you boil water, water steams left and evaporates into the air. If I boiled water and brought it in my grow room would that be safe for the plants or bad idea in veg cycle? I know it would probably be horrible idea in budding as you don't want to high of humidity it can cause bud rot. What's your thoughts and opinions on this?

Why are you so concerned about increasing humidity? I run a dehumidifier mostly 24/7 but during the cold dry months it collects next to nothing...low humidity has very little detrimental effect on growing cannabis plants but high humidity can cause a slew of issues. 37% humidity is fine. Worry about lowering it when it gets very humid but if it's on the dry side that should not be much of a problem. You shouldn't need to boil off steam to increase humidity.

It is between 30 and 40 percent. I read online 40 to 60 percent is ideal for veg so I'm trying to raise it to at least 40 percent all the time. Right now it's usually under 40 percent cuz i live in Michigan where there's snow still and it's cold. My basement is cold. Between 50s and 60s ferenheit.

i think this is wrong... 20- 40 % humidity sure... but once you get below that leaves start drying and curling...I am going through this now and it sucks.. buying a large humidifier and possibly hooking up my exhaust fan to my humidity controller.

Maybe if you live near a desert. Ok but I do pretty much nothing about low humidity and still grow some of the finest dank in the land. Just need to water lightly & a bit more often...those low temps on the other hand may need help

the winters (well now what they are calling spring this year) plus a 400 cfm fan on all the time.. even WITH a humidifier still has my humidity %'s very very low.. like 16%... so should I hook up my humidifier to my exit fan... i mean I know that is not ideal.. but once buds start lower is better right? But still you don't want THAT low....

I grew in 10 to 20 degree colder temps without any problems a few years back. I'm not worried about the temps because the strains I ordered in seed form, I did research and bought colder climate strains for that reason because I live where it is cold.

I grow plants with ~20% relative humidity and I have no problem. As long as you water them plenty it's fine.

.. all these experienced Growers are telling you its ok..? (Mine's 37 right now) If you need more humidity by a humidifier.

Buy a humidifier on Amazon then... I've been growing for a long time and never worried about low humidity I just water more frequently..high humidity is a real issue on the other hand

I have lots of friends in Michigan that grow as well, my homie tells me not to worry about humidity unless it's too high also. I'm sorry for doubting people, I just read allot and from what I read I would think all of the sites that say that humidity and temps are important.

Also read that humidifiers are bad though cuz they add too much water vapor in the air and can cause problems. Why I chose to try the towel method instead. I trust you all, I just want my grow room to be as good as I can make it. When you put literally every penny and dime and dollar you have into something, you want to do your best!

50-60% humidity is ideal in my opinion for veg. At 30-40% your Cannabis will still grow, but a little on the slower side. As long as the plants aren't scrunched together with leaves overlapping, and you have air flow you shouldn't need to worry about mold at 40-60% humidity. If Humidity gets higher then 65% then you may start to have issues. Hope this helps.

Buy inkbird humidity controller if you want to lock your growing environment down tighter

I have a humidifier for winter and a dehumidifier for summer. I notice when my humidity gets below 25% my veg growth really slows in winter. I am sure the cold isn't helping but when I turn on the humidifier my growth increases. That is in my veg room, in flower I have the dehumidifier set to 60% and it runs all year, almost no collection in winter but I leave it powered on and set to 60% anyway. That room rarely gets below 40%.

I use this bud... My humidity was 15% as i live in the same weather region as you. Plants were SLOW growing so I bought this for $19.99 from Walmart. Now my humidity levels are a nice 55%. I can play with it by increasing/decreasing it too. Plants are growing much better and lush now. My grow room smells like a green house now.
