Adjusting, keeping steady & stable - pH in soil

So I have these questions about the very important..... pH, and wanted to see how other growers would approach this on a soil grow.

Is it the pH of the feed solution (nutes or water) that is most important? Or is it the pH of the soil? So what I'm really asking is would the run off be the most important right?

So would this be correct; regardless of what the feed solution is it doesn't matter as long as the run off pH is in the right range of what the soil pH would be?

What I want to know is if I needed to raise the pH of the soil/runoff- I would raise the pH of the feed solution right? So instead of having the solution at or around 6.3 where the run off is around 5.5, the grower should raise the solution to to around 7.0 so the soil/run-off is around the 6.3 range? Or is this the wrong way of doing it?

Thanks

(Anyone recommend any good guide here on the forum or out there on the net about pH for soil? Adjusting, keeping stable and steady, etc.)

To the basics bro that's about it ... That's how I do it although I've noticed it's hard to mess up your soil ph as long as you keep it around same all grow and make sure u aren't using some super crazy ph on accident over n over

have you heard about this product called "dolomite lime" ?

I ve always amend my soil/solilless with espoma's garden lime (homedepot sell one lbs for five dollars) for any kind of plants. It keep solid PH by in the medium. It kinda give me a peace of mind.

I dont bother to check PH when i mix the nutrient or i dont check PH after runoff either. Im more K.I.S.S. grower.

always have to remember , dont feed heavy or push hard for your plant , otherwise you will have problem with nute lockout , burn delicate rooting that affect the outcome of plant's health.

Dolomite Lime is MUST !!!!

happy gardening

If you are having lower (acidic) runoff than what you put in watering or feeding, then you want to adjust the soils buffering ability.

Adding powdered garden lime is one way. You can top dress and water it in.

Same idea for calcium in the nutrient solution. Add it first so it buffers the rest of the additives and keeps a more stable pH
