That would have been a logical explanation at the time, but releasing it six months later, after the election, is not.

Bottom line is that the public and the majority of NRA members support the reforms he has proposed. He doesn't need this pictureother than to show how whacked out the right wingers have become.

Yes, I think that is precisely the benign explanation. Someone thought it might come in handy later. The other explanation is that it would have been easy to manipulate a photo to appear as August. Would I put that past this white house? Hell no! Not after what they have already done.

Photo shoots of Mussillini doing everyday work would make rounds throughout the country. It appears no different with Obama on gun control. In this blatant propaganda, Obama is attempting to portray himself as in touch with the gun owners and feeling their pain. Sacrifice liberty for security is the message of the article.

First of all, how do you know that is the prez? Looks a little like him but you can't see much of his face.

Second, a non-shooter would generally be encouraged to shoot trap, not skeet.

Third, as a former firearms instructor, it is easy to see that this shooter does not know how to properly handle his weapon. The butt of the stock is too high on his shoulder and his line of sight is too low. I doubt he could hit the high house let alone a 4" wide disk traveling at 50 mph perpendicular to his line of fire.

Like I said, not his first round nor yet, his 500th. BTW, I started with skeet. I'd say, from the gun line, this looks like trap.

And like snowflakes no two men have the same pattern of gray in their hair. :)

The entire thing comes on the heel of Clinton, warning, not Obama, he is just the President, will be gone soon enough; Clinton was warning the numb-nuts in Congress and their supports that they are creating bad ju-ju with the Anti-2nd A push. Then the White House decided the best image to keep it tamped down below insurrection, was to have a cum-by-ya from the President. But, they needed to be careful.

Their supporter are also rabid, but numb-nuts, so they faked it at first to give some cover there. It all seems so obvious, when I realize it is all game. No truth in Politics, at all.

It is called politics because we are being manipulated. That is the system. Opinion addiction and future/past fantasy plays.

The President is the figure head of the USA. The Presidential contenders don't run the Party. They do not call the shots. (pun)

just think if someone glued a peice of plastic on there and he didn't notice it would then become a milatary style assault weapon and completely illegal
