I like my Challenger, you can push the shifter to the right and put it into manual shift mode. You can short shift it or if you do nothing it won't shift until it hits redline. You can down shift also going into corners.

When you put my car into sport mode it has paddle shifters to control the gear. I've not used it once!

I do the same thing, even remember how many steps there are in most every house I've ever lived in. If I don't count them I get stressed about it. I grew up in a 3 story house with an attic for a fourth story so steps were always getting climbed. Pretty sure that's where I developed the quirk.
u can't shift w/a beer in one hand, or coffee either (for those who'd say driving with a beer is what your crotch is for -- among other things).
