Advanced Nutrients and "grower level"

In the AN feed chart/calculator (http://www.advancednutrients.com/hydroponics/calc/) we see that they have PLENTY of nutrients to chose from, depending on your grow level. Hobbyists give only grow, micro, bloom, Voodoo Juice, B-52, Big Bud and Overdrive during flowering. Is there any significant increase in yield by using a higher level of feeding you think?

Mostly to AN's bottom line. I personally don't believe their stuff is junk, I do believe it is for the most part over priced and overhyped. Fetilizer isn't rocket science.

I duno, the ads in their rosebud catalog read like penis enlargement emails!

Fertilizer isn't rocket science no, but AN is also the only one I know of with PH Perfect. That's why I ended up with them. Still far cheaper to grow my own weed with AN then to buy it from the streets. I've already done one grow using only their base nutrients, grow-micro-bloom, and I was moderately impressed with the results. I'll just try their next "level" or two and see how it goes.

Who cares what people think about AN.
I haven't done a side by side to think that they don't work.
I have used them off and on for a long time, I like their nutrients, but I just can't keep up with their price when I don't sell for profit.

I do use their Bud Candy, Overdrive, Big Bud, and Final Phase from time to time, especially when given to me for free in 250ML to 500ML bottles.
I may do a side by side in the future, but for now I'm just going to use what I want when I want as long as my plants come out fine.

But the point is that you can get equally good results from using much less expensive nutes
and AN overcomplicate their systems because it's got far more to do with advertising and sales manipulation than it has to do with growing.

"I've been growing for 3 years, that makes me an AN black belt grower - if I send £250 for their AN BLACK BELT growing kit i'll be able to advance onto BLACK BELT, 1st Dan Grower - Only £500!!!!! and I still manage to grow an ounce for 64c less than I could buy it from that one eyed black guy who stands on the corner near Pets World. ACE!"

If by "yield" you mean profit by AN, then yes, there is a significant increase in yield.

In my experience the type of people who go for the A N stuff are similar to the type of people who spend five time more money for a t-shirt because it has a microscopic fish on the left nipple
or jeans with a V on the pocket
If they had a M on the pocket they'd only cost a quarter as much - But M is so 2013....!
Guys who understand what's IN. what's NOW.
They happily pay 4 times more for Jeans with a V on the arse pocket.
(Then they actually brag about it!).

Why can't people just let other people be happy with whatever they use.
No need to bash him because he choose AN over the brand you use.
If it works, it works. Not like you'll be buying or smoking him grow.

I've used probably 5-6 different brand of nutrients over the years and I found they all work, if someone wants to pay more, let them.

What nutes do you use in your hydroponic setup?

I'm under the impression there actually IS no significant difference in quality between the major brands of hydroponic nutrients. As I said, the only reason I go with AN is their PH Perfect. If another major brand would have it half the price, I would go for that instead.

Canna Aqua Vega A & B
(I don't change to FLORE during flower, just keep using VEGA)
Cannazym
Canna Rhizotonic (easily the most expensive thing I use)
and pH up
pH down -both by ESSENTIALS.

Maybe, next grow, I'll try some PK13/14....?
and, as I use rainwater (because my tap water has an EC of O.%) I may try some CalMag....?
At the moment I'm mixing 60% rain with 40% tap to get 0.2EC as a base.

But I think AN are very cleverly marketed
they do the job
but no better than other nutes which cost far less.

I'd like to say first the the various bundles they sell are very poorly named, as how many bottles you use or buy has nothing to do with your growing ability. That being said if you do the research on the products and just decide which ones it seems best to use I think you'll be happy. I havn't ran AN but have been close a few times, and may still here in the near future. If you consider the nuterient strength and amount of mixed gallons that nutes provide you will find that when its all said and done AN is only minutely more expensive, something like 2 cents a gallon more then the GH 3 part for example I believe. So give the AN a try and I hope it goes well for ya.

Now secondly I want to simple put that its embarrassing that every AN thread gets attacked by people that think they need to offer useless opinions even though they havn't even used the products. It speaks very poorly for our community the way some of you troll these threads with no purpose other then bashing AN and those that want to use it. Why not just skip over the thread if you don't like AN. Thats what I do with pretty much the whole political section of RIU......

So Canna is a reputable company who doesnt rape its customers but AN is? Canna is cheaper than AN? Il help ya out here, no and no. Ph perfect sensi grow in 2-1litre bottles is $17, ph perfect connisseur in 2-1litre bottles is $26, thats $43 for 1 gallon of base nutes, how much is a gallon of Canna base?

The thing about linking the nutes you buy to GROWER LEVEL
is a clever way of manipulating people into attempting to buy GROWER STATUS.

"I use AN level 3 - I'm a top professional. You need a license to even be allowed to own AN level 3 nutes....."
The irony is that I don't know a single grower that I consider to be advanced or even expert, who uses AN.

In fact, the more experienced a grower gets, the LESS he spends on nutes....
he doesn't enter some elite group who are the only ones allowed to buy limited edition AN products.
He learns to make compost tea and seaweed soup - stuff like that.

and I don't bother with their one bullshit product - Boost.
As for pH perfect - what's the big deal?
You lean to set your pH
it's part of the skills they call GROWING
but certain people would rather throw money at it than learn the tricks.

I like the AN organic line, Dr.Hornsby stuff is really good.. As far as AN synthetics go, I have no opinion. I know you could use the Organic line in hydro though.

PH perfect is not PH perfect..you still need to ajust your PH..It will however hold PH once ajusted real nice.
I bet you 100 dollars if you ever used their bud blood..or bud ignitor ..or their voo doo juice you wouldnt ever give it up
