Advanced Nutrients' Big Bud Powder Vs. Liquid

I've been looking to supplement my cheap General Hydroponics Flora Nova nutes with some kind of bloom enhancer. Big Bud caught my interest. Here's what I don't get, if I buy the liquid I will get about two rez changes out of a one litre bottle. If I buy the powder, I should get around 28 rez changes, plus the powder is cheaper. Am I missing something here? Why on Earth should anyone buy the liquid? I keep about 30gal in my rez, by the way. I'll admit that I suck at math, so maybe that's where my problem is. Here are links to both:

The liquid is cool when you don’t want to deal with mixing, at least that’s what I’ve found.

You pay for convenience, my friend.

Stick with the powder if it’s working for you!

I've got the liquid, it's ok. Im going to buy the powder next time. cheaper, longer shelf life and I may be wrong but I think it has a higher NPK rating than it's liquid bro.

he has made some very good points. I'm guessing that the liquid is more for a hydro setup, less salt build up

Bud Kandy is a newer big bud I think, much better so they claim. but it's pricey as fuck. £45 or $60 somthing like that for a litre.
I'm paying £12 for big bud liquid which I run with hammerhead.

Thanks for the replies, but DAMN this thread is old. Never did try Big Bud, maybe next grow. I decided to use Gravity this time.

Jack's Classic Bloom Booster. 10-30-20 with lots of magnesium and the rest. It's only $7.50 for 1.5 lbs and is as good as anything. It can be found at most highend plant shops. Uncle Tom swears by it!

I tend to stick to Advanced Nutrients for my grows, and I think Bud Bud is great for my needs.

How is/was Gravity working for you? Always interesting to see what other people are doing in their rooms.

:peace:

I did a very light Gravity regimen(only 3 days vs. 7-10 days recommended dose) and noticed increased resin production. Buds turned out nice and tight, but not rock hard as advertised. I read a lot about the stuff potentially burning plants so I ran it with plain water. Next time I'm going to run it for the full 7 days with nutes and I have a feeling I'll really see what the stuff can do then.

big bud is basically hammerhead 9/18 except doubled up.. same ratio basically.. dunno why you;d want to run both together... also big bud is supposed to be used during weeks 2-4.. gravity is to be used for 1 5ml watering or 2 consecutive 2 1/2ml waterings around 3-2 weeks before the chop.. also u lower all your nutrients to half strength at least when u use gravity...

bud candy is not the same at all as big bud... bud candy can be more comparable to sweet... its a carbohydrate.. bud candy will make your room smell great and works great.. use it thru all flowering cycle.. 8ml per gallon.. big bud is a crazy ratio such as 1-19-37 or something..

also someone said they swear by that product that is 10-30-20.. well the problem i see with that first off is the nitrogen... 10 is way too much for flowering.. too much nitrogen lowers yield... *-30-20 is not the right ratio... too much p and not enough k will affect flavor adversely, and isnt the correct ratio for maximizing bud size and yield... the correct ratio is supposed to be around *-1-2... all the way up.. hammerhead 9-18 is *-9-18... big bud powder is just double that... i believe hammerhead is no longer being made and it is now just big bud..

dont run gravity for 7 days.. its not recommended that way.. it says either 1 full dose or 2 split doses consecutive on the bottle... and it says very specifically MORE IS NOT BETTER... gravity tricks your plant into thinking its at the end of its life cycle and matures your plants/buds... it makes your plant kill off the leaves by sucking up all the energy stored in there, and makes the buds tight and hard... if u use it at the end of a run where u used big bud your buds will be fat hard and heavy... using bud candy they will be super super super sweet... gravity doesnt increase resins... but purplemaxx/snowstorm does.. snowstorm would be best, purplemaxx was the experiemental early release.... the reason for gravity and snowstorm are if u are using their other product being bushmaster (which will decrease yield, but stunt height growth) gravity adds the weight u lost back, and snowstorm increases the sugars/oils... but if u arent using bushmaster u will get about a 50% increase in crystal content with snow storm.. and gravity does its job at hardening...

Thank you for this...

I was wondering what these liquids are actually doing to my girls...
