Second grow with AN using the A& B plus Big Bud, B-52, Nivana, Bud Candy, Bud ECT. plus Factor-X from Canada! My old grows of coco were better with tomato & Bloom Miracle Grow formulas. It pH out to 6 to 6.2 each watering with pH up & down. Low pH in the root zone was a problem last grow, unless AN has issues. This grow is 1 plant. Have cut back to 8 ml per gallon of A & B base nutrients. Cut out all amendments. The rust spots on leaves has made its way to the tip of the top main cola. Maybe someone can tell me why AN customer service says a pH meter is not going to be accurate. Unless the coco changes the 4.5 I am seeing on my Blue Lab meter moving it up to 6.2. There has to be a problem with the A & B base nutrients.

What was your ppm's ?

Anything over 1000 in ProMix HP is pushing it..

And each of the extra's you are adding is increasing your ppm's.

Did you do a flush before cutting out the amendments ? Just stopping using them was not enough.

Cheers

Yep. Feeding 1/2 A B with Rhino Skin 8 ml per gallon of distilled water. No other amendments in use. Current mix is in the 900 ppm range. Thanks! Wish me luck lol!

My very generic comparison of GH Flora Trio vs. Fox Farm Trio: (3gal fabric pots, Tupur coco)

With GH, plants were always on point, nary a problem aside from occasional magnesium issues from cheap coco. Calmag always fixed that. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

With FoxFarm, i was always chasing "spots" or "burns" of some kind. Still overall pleasant results, but quite a bit of head-scratching to get there.

Never used AN, but am honestly curious to try, just to try.

I was not a fan of FoxFarms either. I used it in my first two grows with soil and found it difficult. Canna A+B for me has been so much more consistent. I'm a few weeks into flower right now and everything is hunky dory. No crispy leaves, yellowing etc...Everything is nice a nice green. We'll see what happens as flower continues.

There’s nothing wrong with AN. As far as quality. Overpriced yes except for Jungle Juice. That was reverse engineered to copy the original GH trio. Micros contain calcium and magnesium that I found was usually sufficient except sometimes first 4-5 weeks of bloom. I ran it in reduced amounts per their schedule and I also ran it using Lucas’s formula with very good results. If you don’t like it because of some BS about the artwork or the owner you might not want to know much more about any other business.

Nancy Reagan said just say NO to Advanced Nutrients. GH may be what I buy when I make the switch.

There are so many products on the market now to get you to the finish line yielding potent, frosty buds. I’ve mastered the use of Dr. Earth without ppm and knowing when to feed based on what the leaves tell me. I just PH my waterings and weekly I’ll add to my waterings microbes, bacterials, acids, silica etc. Its not that I’m unwilling to try other products. It’s that I’ve learned to grow the way I do with the products I know that it’s easy for me and less likely to make mistakes by learning other products. If what you do ain’t broke don’t change it

Maybe it's just me, but mixing all of those in specific quantities for different times of the plants life cycle sounds like a giant PITA

I use athena and don't plan on trying anything else anytime soon. Jungle boys use athena too and the ratios of athena are different than advanced nutrients, general hydro, and pretty much every hydro brand. Athena is specifically for cannabis and most hydro brands just have general ratios that are good for peppers, tomatoes, and cannabis too but idk I used to use general hydroponics and it came out good but the bud had no flavor. Athena is high sulfur which helps a lot with flavor whereas all the other brands neglect sulfur.

Athena Pro Bloom contributes balanced levels macro and micro-elements including sulfur (S) used for increasing potency and flavors.
