I know this is an old thread but I think it's very important to anyone out there using Advanced Nutrients without experience with PPM or does not have a PPM meter yet (like me) so I decided to repost it. See the email posted from AN at the end of the thread linked below. It's pretty extensive and includes a nice feed schedule for first time AN users. Thanks to coreyb.
My grow, micro, bloom directions said 4mL per 1L. The "New nutrient calculator" on their website corroborated this. It's not at all obvious (imo) that you need to use the "old nutrient calculator" on their website. Otherwise you will mix your nutes WAY too strong. Do not use the directions on the bottle if it says 4mL per 1L!
I almost burnt up some young ones by mixing per the instructions. Of course I diluted the mix because of the size of the plants but it was still way too strong. I got curious when all new growth seemed to stop for a couple days after my first feeding. Luckily I found coreyb's post, flushed with plain water, and they came back.
Lessons: Get a PPM meter and don't trust labels unless you're experienced with the product. Hmm, maybe this belongs in the newbie section.
