I've always avoided mentioning MJ on the phone with AN. It may be that their policy has changed but even so it's better to avoid that kind of thing. Keeps everyone safer that way.

That said, the feeding rates on bottles or online calculators are almost always on the high side. That's just kind of the way things are. You always want to chop their feeding recommendations by at least half if not a third just to be safe, and dial up slowly from there.

Usually their recommendations are based on massive amounts of lights, CO2 enrichment, and so on. Optimal growing conditions that most of us can't quite match.

Of course when you talk to the guys on the phone they'll steer you right.

Huh, good to know.

I need to keep my mouth shut, apparently. I talk MJ and didn't realize I shouldn't have.

Yeah, I've always had a good time on the phone with them. I get all of my questions answered by Advanced Nutrients.

I would encourage you read their website too if you have questions. I've found it to be helpful too. But these forums are a good idea too. Of course, who knows who you can trust, right?

LOL

I'd hold off on the molassas if I was you since you said you was in Promix I'd add some Great White for microbes in the soil, then I'd add in molasses or Carbo Load

Molasses has never worked for me. I use Bud Candy when I run my Advanced Nutrients lineup.

There's lots of good info online about using molasses, but I don't know what to tell you what to do since I just have no luck with it.

Hey, have you checked out Sensi A&B instead of Grow-Micro-Bloom?

The political landscape around MJ is always shifting so it's possible things have changed but I generally make it a rule to avoid any specific references that could get me or someone else in trouble. At least within settings where both sides can't enjoy reasonable anonymity (like here).

I'd agree that molasses is problematic in hydroponics. IF you have a strong micro-herd it can work well but it's a risk either way. Carboload or Bud Candy (which contains Carboload) is a better way to go because they're specially formulated for use in hydroponics. As long as you're vigilant about light leaks in the reservoir and temperatures you won't see any harmful microbe blooms filling your reservoir (and everything else) with slime molds and other nastiness.
