Advanced Nutrients Sensi Coco.. Are Additives worth your money??

Fairly green gardener here, I've gotten a few (semi)-successful harvests under my belt now. I started in Coco+perlite with GH trio and some PH up/Down.

I've since graduated to a more automated DTW coco+perlite grow with AN Sensi Coco A&B and have loved it so far, no more messing around with PH. The only other additives I use are some Drip clean and I bought a 50lb bulk bag of MKP (60$ CAD) to add in flowering for bud booster.

Now I've loved my experience with AN so far, but after further research it seems there may be better options.I have 4 litres of each A&B Grow and Bloom. So I will be continuing with AN for a little while at least.


My hydro store owner is quite the salesman, he's always trying to push all the AN additives to me. I thought I could just be price savvy and get away with the generic MKP and no fancy expensive additives. Now he has me wondering if my frugal ways are stopping me from getting colas bigger than my head.

He insists I should be using voodoo juice and B-52 at the very least. With of course recommending all the other pretty bottles, Tarantula, Big-Bud, Bud factor X, Overdrive, Bud Candy, Rhino Skin and Bud ignitor.

He's given me a small breakdown of what each "does"... I've always been a skeptic and the price tag on most of the 1L bottles seem crazy steep.


Could someone give me some insight on what is actually worthwhile to be adding to your nutrient schedule? Is there some that I could expect to see great results with? How about any more price friendly options that i would step my game up?

Don't listen to the hydro shop guy. He could care less about your harvest and is only worried about the profit he makes selling you AN products (which is allot). Since I switched to Mega Crop I am seeing bigger harvests and it only cost pennies per gallon. You don't need the other nine bottles to make it to harvest, just spend your money better.

They all are, really.
The skinny about all those bottles is their base line is designed to be incomplete, but not in a significant detrimental way.
It's not so bad you NEED the extras, but enough that each one makes noticeable improvements in some aspect.
I'd call it a scam, but I have a boss who uses it (or, makes me use it, rather).
It does work, and the pH perfect line saves some time. I don't pay for it, so I dunno how much it costs, specifically.

Do yourself a favor & read about organic mollasses @ $12 for 600 grms 1 teaspoon , mixed in water with the A & B twice a week , will do a lot more than all the fancy gear , at a tenth of the price

Thanks for the great info guys, Megacrop looks real nice. I think once I'm through the AN I will be looking further into megacrop or dynagro.

Damn, I was completely unaware of this before I dove in head first with AN. I see how they have cleverly broken down a completed product to sell it in pieces with fancy marketing. I'm enjoying everything I've gotten from my garden so I can't complain, but in my typical fashion, I am always trying to make a good thing better

Can anyone advise if dynagro or megracrop are also pH stable?

I've heard about adding blackstap molasses, going to do some further reading on the topic. Seems unsulphured molasses are the way to go, something like 1 T/Gal? How much do you add, and do you run it through your entire flowering cycle and flush tanger?

I use Mega Crop. It's a complete one part that you can use from seed to harvest. They have an updated feeding chart on their website.

U can use unsulphered , or organic molasses the whole grow , but please read what U can find on the topic & U be the judge

It sounds like it would be something I'd like to add to the regiment. My only concerns are that I run a drip feed system with a 35 Gal res, I wonder if adding molasses to my res would clog my pumps and/or cause bacterial growth. I suppose I could always hand water some diluted molasses occasionally instead of adding to the res.

Do you have to adjust the pH after adding their nutes blake?

I am one of those guys who has a shelf full of Advanced Nutrients bottles . . . Giving mega crop a try on my next grow from seed . . . Will let you know how I do.

Depends on your water and how you growing. I'm growing in soil so the soil buffers the PH for me.
