do you also keep a squirell? i had a dear old friend who befriended all the squirells and racoons in the neighborhood it was fun at his house!
Ah..He was my boy..I miss him. Here's a scream of a squirrel story
A friend sent this to me this morning. Thought I would share:

An original true story, written by a Battalion Fire Chief in a Mississippi
town.
EVIL MUTANT ATTACK SQUIRREL OF DEATH
I never dreamed slowly cruising on my motorcycle through a residential
neighborhood could be so incredibly dangerous! Little did I suspect. I was
on Brice Street - a very nice neighborhood with perfect lawns and slow
traffic. As I passed an oncoming car; a brown, furry missile shot out from
under it and tumbled to a stop immediately in front of me.
It was a squirrel and must have been trying to run across the road when it
encountered the car. I really was not going very fast, but there was no
time to brake or avoid it -- it was that close. I hate to run over animals
and I really hate it on a motorcycle but a squirrel should pose no danger.
I barely had time to brace for the impact. Animal lovers, never fear.
Squirrels, I discovered, can take care of themselves!
Inches before impact, the squirrel flipped to his feet. He was standing on
his hind legs and facing my oncoming Harley with steadfast resolve in his
beady little eyes. His mouth opened and at the last possible second, he
screamed and leapt! I am pretty sure the scream was squirrel for, "Banzai!"
or maybe, "Die you heathen scum!"
The leap was nothing short of spectacular! He shot straight up, flew over my
windshield and impacted me squarely in the chest. Instantly, he set upon
me. If I did not know better, I would have sworn he brought 20 of his
little buddies along for the attack. Snarling, hissing and tearing at my
clothes, he was a frenzy of activity. As I was dressed only in a light
T-shirt, summer riding gloves and jeans this was a bit of a cause for
concern. This furry little tornado was doing some damage!
Picture a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser, dressed in jeans, a
T-shirt, and leather gloves, puttering at maybe 25 mph down a quiet
residential street and in the fight of his life with a squirrel. And
losing...
I grabbed for him with my left hand. After a few misses, I finally managed
to snag his tail. With all my strength, I flung the evil rodent off to the
left of the bike, almost running into the right curb as I recoiled from the
throw. That should have done it. The matter should have ended right there.
It really should have. The squirrel could have sailed into one of the
pristinely kept yards and gone on about his business, and I could have
headed home. No one would have been the wiser. But this was no ordinary
squirrel. This was not even an ordinary angry squirrel. This was an EVIL
MUTANT ATTACK SQUIRREL OF DEATH!
Somehow he caught my gloved finger with one of his little hands and with the
force of the throw, swung around and with a resounding thump and an amazing
impact, he landed squarely on my BACK and resumed his rather antisocial and
extremely distracting activities. He also managed to take my left glove with
him!
The situation was not improved. Not improved at all. His attacks were
continuing, and now I could not reach him. I was startled, to say the least.
The combination of the force of the throw, only having one hand
(the throttle hand) on the handlebars and my jerking back unfortunately put
a healthy twist through my right hand an into the throttle. A healthy twist
on the throttle of a Harley can only have one result: TORQUE!
This is what the Harley is made for and she is very, very good at it. The
engine roared and the front wheel left the pavement. The squirrel screamed
in anger. The Harley screamed in ecstasy. I screamed in... well, I just
plain screamed. Now picture a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser,
dressed in jeans, a slightly squirrel-torn t-shirt, wearing only one leather
glove and roaring at maybe 50 mph and rapidly accelerating down a quiet
residential street on one wheel, with a demonic squirrel of death on his
back. The man and the squirrel are both screaming bloody murder.
With the sudden acceleration I was forced to put my other hand back on the
handlebars and try to get control of the bike. This was leaving the mutant
squirrel to his own devices but I really did not want to crash into
somebody's tree, house or parked car. Also, I had not yet figured out how to
release the throttle... my brain was just simply overloaded. I did manage
to mash the back brake, but it had little effect against the massive power
of the big cruiser.
About this time the squirrel decided that I was not paying sufficient
attention to this very serious battle (maybe he was an evil mutant NAZI
attack squirrel of death), and he came around my neck and got INSIDE my
full-face helmet with me. As the faceplate closed part way, he began hissing
in my face. I am quite sure my screaming changed intensity.
It had little effect on the squirrel, however. The RPMs on the Dragon maxed
out (since I was not bothering with shifting at the moment), so her front
end started to drop.
Now picture a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser, dressed in
jeans, a very raggedly torn T-shirt, wearing only one leather glove,
roaring at probably 80 mph, still on one wheel, with a large puffy
squirrel's tail sticking out of the mostly closed full-fac helmet. By now,
the screams are probably getting a little hoarse.
Finally I got the upper hand.... I managed to grab his tail again, pulled
him out of my helmet, and slung him to the left as hard as I could. This
time it worked ... sort-of. Spectacularly sort-of... so to speak.
Picture a new scene. You are a cop. You and your partner have pulled off on
a quiet residential street and parked with your windows down to do some
paperwork. Suddenly a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser, dressed
in jeans, a torn T-shirt flapping in the breeze and wearing only one leather
glove, moving at probably 80 mph on one wheel, and screaming bloody murder
roars by and with all his strength throws a live squirrel grenade directly
into your police car.
I heard screams. They weren't mine...

hahahahhaahahhahah damn furry rodents.... i hate rabbits more they took out my first set of plants last year
My guy didn't like kine, but chocolate is another story. I gave him a tiny corner..That was all she wrote. After that he would search all my pockets and bitch me out when he didn't find anything*lmao* In the morning..after he got some sun, he'd curl up in my lap while I was online.
I did not let him have coffee though he wanted some. All I kept seeing was that movie" Under the hedge" That squirrel on coffee was a scream.

it is not so much the lite but to answer the question you have asked i say 10-12 count 42 watt CFL'S single stock with a good root base and great PH balance this is important because it will determine how much and how well they will eat as i mentioned before i prefer the airoponics this is cheap and easy to construct with 2 five gallon buckets and a pump...........

you see it seem to me that people feel that if you give it the most intense light you can find and the best hydro setup that it equils dank fat buds and that is simpley not true.

CFL's do not have the danger or heat problems that HPS and MH have also it cost more all around to dissapate the heat and the smell with it also CFL's are self ballest in most cases and there are so many that if one goes out you dont have to shell up 150.00 or 250.00 or what if the ballast goes out what if either of them fail while you are out of town and you loose the crop if one or two fail then i loose a few lumens and keep on rockin again consider the fire danger while you are gone a fan can fail of trip the braker also they use less wattage and you are able to spread the light as you see fit in most cases instead of coming from a central location high above i will say in defence of the production grower large intense lights are a good and usefull thing because it cuts down on the doliers per OZ of production that in my opinion is the onley time you would need the extra lumens i my self will never grow more then 14 plants at a time i get around 3-5 OZ per plant with that light at 14 plants only geting 3 OZ per is still 42 OZ every 4 months what the hell will i do with all that and i am only using about 420-680 watts when you have MH and HPS you are stuck with on or two kelvin ratings and that is it with CFL's i can swap the kelvin rating as i see fit mabey i want to flower at 2100 kelvin mabey i like 6500 kelvin for veg or mabey i want to try 4500 kelvin for veg and see if i get a better sun leaf with CFL's there is room for discovery and creativity we know that all strands are not the same and come from diffrent parts of the world mabey you would like to plant all dark purple indiga and the next crop you want to plant a virgin sativa they have diffrent requirments for light and with CFL's you can provide that with half the cost just remember people that the higher you go in watts when buyin a single CFL bulb the lower you go in lumens per watt stay at 26-55 watts and that is the best spot to stay...................... here are the periods that belong up there disperse them as you please
But I digress Im going CFL sir 1000bulbs dot com will be my source 150 5000k 8000 lumens unless I change my mind/or loose it great post will be consulting it regularly no doubt. Thanks.

If your looking for the larger CFL's go to plantlighting.com for both, and growwurks.com has a deal on 6500k bulbs x4..Way better pricing..But for 2700k HD really has the best prices and deals.. The difference fom mine is $200.00 for a 4 150w hood with big bulbs, and $120.00 with the 43wcfl's from HD.. More wiring and work, but for $80.00 I'll do the work.
Here's pics of a large bulb set up and a smaller 6 bulb 43w.

i would love to know what the F**K you are talking about did i offend you or something like that because if i did then you must be either a HID grower or a windows user one of the two because those are the only two people i have ever offended so which is it O and by the way i forgot go f**k your self sorry almost forgot that last bit.............,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, this thread.. Too much OT bashing. Although, I've been reading it for like 6 months now and got lots of inspiration and ideas.

Here's some quick notes of my experience with CFLs.

I vegged 6 plants under CFL. 3x2700K(126W), 4x3500K(120W) and 6x6500K(162W). About 408 real Watts of CFL. Lights always kept to 1" from growth and reflected.

1st Month
The plants grew very strong, but very slow.

2nd Month
Short 1/2" main stalk internodes on a kush strain and 3/4" on a Indica/Sativa hybrid. Very nice fan leaf and top color. There was room to put underlights so another 4x3500K(56W) but small bulbs. This helped the shoots get a little more light. Plants still vegging slowly.

3rd Months
(Told you it took a long time) Tops looked great, but shoots were stringy and yellowed. Not enough light. Gently folding fan leaves out of the way helped the shoots a bit. Minor leaf burn issues when they grew in to the lights too fast to correct.

End of 3rd and Veg
The plans were about 16" with nearly 3/4" trunks. Side shoots developed a bit after folding down fan leaves and giving the tops more light.

1st Week 12/12 (HPS)
I decided to switch over to 400W HPS and wow what a difference. I could see a change after the first 12 hours. Even shaded undershoots started getting a nice green instead of that lack-of-light yellow.

To my great surprise, the room was actually 10F cooler with 400W HPS than the 456W of CLFs.

2nd Week 12/12 (Now)
Yeah... Monsters now. 4 Males UGH!!!! Bai bai. But the two fems have doubled in size with 12 dime sized colas per plant. Mmmm mmm tasty.

Final Thoughts
I really wanted to believe that CFL's and or LED's were a great alternative to HID lights. I was counting on it at first. But in reality they aren't. And if done right, HID lights run relatively cool and are safe. My reflector is only 10F degrees hotter than the room ambient with a small fan cooling it.

Sorry but Lumens per Watt is the key here. It's simple. 400W (or any amount of electric power) has 3 places to go; Heat, Light or ElectroMagnetic. We aren't so worried about the later in this case. So 400W of CFLs are only giving off a certain amount of light that I know is less light than a 400W HPS. I did light meter tests and observed the plants. Then if Newtons laws of physics still apply, the energy that isn't used for light is converting to heat. And all my observations over the last 3-4 months have unfortunately supported this hypothesis. The room being cooler now is a very strong big of evidence.

But not that unfortunate, because I'm rather happy with HID's now that I broke the ice with them. Balasts in another room/area is nice too. Something that is harder or even impossible to do with CFLs.
