Advice/Help deciding on cfl setup

Have you purchased the mars light yet? If you haven't please stop by the led section first and check out the cree and vero cobs. There are several companies making prebuilt units that will blow away the mars lights. Less heat and more light.

I would also advise against an active 80mm intake. If you are using a scrubber it is safer to use passive intakes in order to maintain negative cabinet pressure.

thanks for the advice man, ill check them out too, if there around the same price as that mars ill be interested. Because its only a cheap 1 plant diy grow im not willing to spend too much cash, especially if the outcome will be similar.

With the passive intake what sort of way do you suggest? As in how big would I make the hole/holes in order to maintain negative pressure?

Make the intake holes twice the surface area of the exhaust.

Check out tastyled or pacific lighting for some prebuilt units. Building one yourself wouldn't be hard either if you have basic electrical knowledge.

A simple one plant light could be built with:
One Cree cxb-3590 3500k
One Meanwell driver hln-80h-42b
One Artic 64 cpu cooler
Some thermal paste, a 100k potentiometer, a cob holder and other small connectors.

This would give a high output 80w light with dimming capability that could veg and flower like a champ. It would be capable of hitting 1gpw easily
