Advice how to dry huge buds?

Your conditions are so dry you are using a space to INCREASE humidity and you are asking if it will mold? Heck no do it right no chance it molds imo. Air exchange imo, vs airflow, is the key when drying. An exhaust running intermittently is ideal, just enough to maintain your goal RH%.
I am using the wedryer to hide it and also cause I don't have a dark place to hang them.. zero. that is the best solution for me. it has its own vent but not that strong. best is to hang in the tent, but this time i have 4 diff strains so its one after one and also I am harvesting in 2 rounds, upper buds first

What are the temps with that humidity?
21C ~ 69 F
It shouldn’t mold at 40% rh…..
I hope so.. I had it once for this strain, but it was in the winter, so no aircondition, the room temp was low but the humidity went up to 80% during flower.. so since then I grow only at summer where the air condition is on.
I know I can add a dehumidifier but the tent is in the bedroom.. so there is a limit to the noise we can have and a good dehumidifier makes some noise.

I have dry conditions here in the winter, and resort to brown bagging the buds every couple days to even up the moisture and slow down the drying.
After that plastic storage bags till its ready for jarring. Good luck

I would be scared the buds will dry too fast at 35-40% RH….unless it’s mighty cool in the space.
i just finished drying some and kept my RH right at 60%, but the coldest I could get the temp was 69F.
I was hoping for 11-12 days but after 8 full days they were done. I jarred them just in time as my hygrometer reads 58%. It’s been 3 days and they’ve smelled dank the entire time. I guess I’ll burp once a day and consider myself lucky to have checked when I did.

Hi,

I have a Critical CBD few days before harvest.
The buds are huge.

What is the best way to dry it? I am using wedryer (its a must I have no other choice)

I will do wet trim, should I split it to pieces before dry or leave it as it is?
Just worry about mold.

The humidity in the room is 35%, inside the wydryer its 40-45%.

Thanks,

Here are photos of the huge bud

Low and slow with lots of cool airflow. Dehumidifier would be ideal

If his RH is 35-45% he needs a humidifier….to add more humidity to the space.
60% is a good number to shoot for with minimal fluctuations….
I believe I would trim the big stuff before hanging and break the largest colas into smaller nuggets. Humidity that low will cause the buds to dry a lot faster, which is not a good thing.

My humidity runs from 35% to 99% doesn't matter the season. A dehumidifier is a must for me. I misread the post. Apologies

Thank you all.

The huge buds is still not harvest, but I harvest the green crack and it took 6 days to get dry. Maybe that is fast, I don't know - but the room is cold and the tent is running, it is what it is.
It was showing 45% in the jar, so I added few fan leaves now each jar is on 62%+-.

I will update after drying the huge buds of the critical bud.

Thanks again, I learned a lot!
