Advice needed first time grower(ak-47)

This is my first time growing and my first plant its a clone of a ak-47. Its about 2.7 to 3 feet tall and very very bushy. i have it under a 400watt hsp and is in foxfarm ocean forest. I follow the foxfarm growing chart though i dont know how effective that chart is. But i will say my plants in the secound week of flowering and already i have a bunch of buds covered in white hairs. This is my problem for some reason my top half of the plant which contains most of the buds looks amazing, but the bottom half looks really ugly theres died leafs which i pull of and leafs with (brown spots on it) and yellow tips and brown tips looks like the leafs have sum kinds disease on it. My question is it normal for the bottom half to do this when flowering will it spread upward its only the old leafs that look bad. Any input or advice would be great.

looks like a phosphorus problem a fertilizer like Peters all purpose 20-20-20 is a good mix to use , but remember stop using nutes 2 weeks before harvest

u need to trim out all that crap growin around the base of the plant.theres way to much sucker growth on the bottom there.u want air to be able to flow under.imo i would cut ALL that bottom growth,its not worth letting that stuff grow.as far as the leaves they look burned maybe.i used ff bac when i wasted time with soil and found that the feeding chart didnt match what the bottle said.also i know that ocean is a super hot soil and u can burn real easily.iam a big fan of chi chang but ff isnt organic so i dont use anymore

looks like u burnt it a little to me r u using foxfarm nutes also? back off a little maby, 20 20 20 for flowering isnt a good idea it it will burn them

I trimed off all the under growth and now my plant looks much better...as far as fert i am using tiger bloom, big bloom, and open sesame. I plan to change from open sesame to beastie bloomz. I dont really know much about ferts just heard Foxfarm was the best.

am i really hurting the plant more then helping it?

If so wat fert should i use? and until i have tons of extra cash hanging around its going to be a while before i could even afford a hydro set up

I just took another look today, tho the buds look every sexy the leafs are getting worse the brown spots are so much now it slowly looks like the entire leaf will be brown in a few days wat makes this happen under feeding over feeding to much nutes....plz help

One more think it seems the only leafs that get affected with the brown spots every is the big leafs with red stems.....does that mean my plant has a diese? I read that the strain Ak-47 tho good can easly get air borne dieses.

Any help is greatly thanked :peace:

check the grow faq about plant illness man i would look it up for you and i will later and try and come up with a better dignosis but i gotta fix the gutters real fast ill get back with you in a few hours bro but in the meantime check the grow faq and see if you might be able to tell and post some pics of just the leaves and the veins u are refering to

it can come from different things sorry i dident see this post eariler before i replied maby id guess over feeding now that you say that whats the n-p-k of what you are givin em when u feed? and towards the end of the plants life it uses up all the things storerd in the fan leafs to make bigger buds but that usually dosent happen till the last week how far into flowering are you sorry if you already said. but im goin to the grow faq to check and see if we cant come up with a sloution and get your girl back to normal.:hump:

alright here is what i have come up with man try both and it should resolve itself, the first is nitrogen defficincy, the leaves are distinct in their pattern of yellowing, it starts on the older leaves and progress upwards leaving the top of the plant healthy and green use fish emulshion it works good 5-1-1 is the npk of it, my other guess would be a magnesium defficincy i say this because of the browning of your leaves towards the bottom either they got burnt or are lacking neither of the things im telling you to do will burn them use epsom salt a teaspoon to a gallon of water you can put the salt in a measurin cup with a cup of water and microwave to dispense it better let it cool and add to the rest of the gallon do both and get back with me. hope this helps

also iam not sure why but the ff feedin chart doesnt match what the bottle says.....if i remember right i would just bac off on the tiger bloom & beastie bloom a little.they say the big bloom wont burn.looking at ur picks again the top leaves dont look burned. .the top half of ur girl looks fine.bottom growth will die off.i think spotting on leaves is a ph prob......i think

and how often are u watering ?.u gotta let that soil dry out on top before watering again.over watering indoors is real easy to.when i used soils i found that some gravel at the bottem of my pots was a must and also kept them of the floor so air flows under them.
