Advice needed re: nutes to use and foliar feeding during wk 4 of flowering

Hi all,

My plant has started flowering (wk 4 of flowering) and shows multiple buds that are starting to shape up.

I realise i needed nute with high K and P content. Problem is i couldnt get one product that had both. So i got these two products:
1. Welgro liquid manure concentrate (all purpose tonic feed for flowers n garden). Composition: N 17%, P 30%, K 15% n tiny amts of trace elements. Says : use 1-2g disolved in 5l water. Any idea how much i would need for 1l water (0.2-0.4g by proportion, but i dont have a scale for .2g.....what would that be in teaspoons? Any suggestions much appreciated ;) its a powder btw.

2. Fertiboost liquid fertilizer EC rich in potash for fertigation and foliar applications. This one is a liquid. Composition: N 3%, P 0%, K 50%, EDTA 1%. Use: 250ml in 100L water.

My problem is with nute no2 becsuse it says "foliar feeding" - i understand that foliar feeding is good only during veg n not flowering. Is that right? If its to avoid mold forming on buds, can i still foliar feed my plant until the bud are fully shaped?

I will feed with nute no1 tonite, and will wait for some answers before using nute no2.

Any helpful comment is really appreciated, doesnt matter if ure an expert or a newbie like me, if uve got some exoerience dont hesitate to post a comment! :)

Thanks!

Don't foliar feed during flowering if you can avoid it. You don't want any of residue leftover on your final bud from nutrients sprayed on the plant, as well as additional spraying raises humidity increasing chances of pm. If you don't keep your water reservoirs in your room you may be fine with the humidity, I struggle with mine and use a dehumidifier. Does the liquid manure refer to the product as anything other then units of weight on the packaging?

The 'liquid manure' is in fact product no. 1 in the above post. This is the powdery one (it actually looks like crushed maggy/knorr cubes u'd use in the kitchen...) and not a liquid, although it says liquid manure concentrate on the packaging....

Does it refer to the product as anything other than units of weight? I think it did because next to the '250g' , there's something that has been struck out with marker pen. Could be that that you're referring to? I dont und the question.

Otherwise, the product no 2 which is a liquid and whose label reads 'foliar feeding' --> can i use that for normal feeding via the roots?

What's the possible issues with using a nute which claims to be for foliar feeding, as a normal nute mix used in water fed to the plant normally, i.e, poured into the soil...?

many thanks for any suggestions!

Product number one will be mixed with water though correct? How else would it be used in a foliar application? As for the weight versus volume of product number one, without a scale the only way to determine how many tsp per gram it is would be through algebra. You need to know the volume, as in how many liters or whatever unit is used. Once you know the volume and the total weight you can scale down from lets say from a 1/4 liter being 250 ml to 5 ml. Well you divide those two by each other getting 50. Lets also say the total weight in grams of the container is 100 grams, you divide that by 50 and it gives you two grams per 5 ml. Hope that clears things up, if not and you find the volume of the container let me know along with the total weight in grams and I will tell you grams per ml. Using a nute that states for foliar feeding you prob aren't gonna have the right ratio for soil feeding and could over nute, aside from that I am unsure that there is anything wrong with it. This is a stupid question but how do you skip a line down, I can't figure it out

Do NOT foliar feed during flowering! Do not use a foliar feed as a root feed. If you cant do the math on your fertilizer, I would definitely think about changing brands. I get great results using FoxFarm and have seen great results using General Hydroponics.

There you have it don't foliar feed with root feed, unless specified on the bottle that is. So no one has told me how to drop down a line yet..... haha. Yeah I use a few GH products, they are solid gotta love Rapid Start.

But can u root feed with foliar feed? lol i know it seems like i reaaaaly wanna use the foliar feed i bought for root feeding my plant!

The bottle also says for fertigation in addition to foliar feed... isnt that root feeding?

Nutes r pretty hard to come by here so not much of a choice. Plus the 2ndproduct above has 50% k2o which proportion i cant find elsewhere...

As for product no1 i used a scale, measured one gram then split that amt in 5 so that i have about 0.2g which is then mixed with 1L water (box says 1-2g per 5L water).

Plant looks fine, had to lst 2 colas touching the bulbs (leaves in contact turned brown n dry like it was toasted!)... I wished my lst'ing in veg had been more organised but now i know how to do it next time!

Leaves in general r not as perky as usual though...

Will update with pics soon.
