Hey guys. Have been looking into setting up my first indoor tent and growing indoors for the first time. Just got off the phone to my local hydroponics store to get some quotes on some gear. All was well until I was told that you cant grow organic cannabis under lights! In soil. Because of the temperature from the lights?? I said cant u have a out take system to take the hot air out but she said you can but your intake air needs to be cool? Having it set up in my shed, in summer the air would b in the 30's. Wld this be a problem? Is she right? Im not gunna even go through with the grow if I cant go organic. Any help wld be appreciated

She is wrong and has no idea
what she is talking about.
You can grow organic under lights.

I believe 30's is to low temp to grow pot though!
You could get stunted growth.

few things, why do you want to go organic? second question how is the air in summer going to be in the 30s in a shed unless you live in alaska or further north? thats just fuckin dumb if anyone said you cant grow organic indoors but if you mean truly organic 100% no youve gotta use the sun buddy

Lol yea diabolic I meant 30c. I live in australia. I want to go organic because I dont want to use any chemical fertilizers. Il b aiming for a only water grow. And building a microbial population to feed my plants. I feel any mental problems brought on by pot have to do with chemicals you feed your plants (whether you flush or not) my opinion ofcourse. So if I were using a 1.4m x 800 tent with 1000w hps lights and the outdoor temp being in the 30s I sld b right?

As stated above, grow store people 9 times out of 10 are incompetent when it comes to growing, especially organically, at least in my experience. If you want to do only water throughout the grow I imagine you are going to build your own soil using compost that has a lot of beneficial bacteria. If you use soil straight out of the bag you will have to brew compost tea to inoculate your soil with beneficial bacteria and fungi, and also youll have to make sure that soil has enough nutrients in it to be broken down and support the growth of your plant for its entire life. For instance, I use Roots Organics 707 soil, it has enough nutrients in it to get me through until 2nd week of flowering and then I have to start adding nutrients, I use the Roots Organics stuff such as Buddha Grow, Buddha Bloom, Trinity, Ancient Amber, HP2, HPK, and Extreme Serene. I also use Great White Mycorrhizae when I transplant and 2nd week of flower to get the fungi going in the soil and make my roots amazing. Check out my Grow Journal. As for the heat, if you only have 2 or 3 1000watt bulbs going, a cheap portable 1 ton Air Conditioner will keep your temps in check along with a passive intake and an active exhaust.

Yea I will def b doing some compost teas and will be building my own medium from scratch. I unfortunately live in australia and we have fuk all when it comes to organic fertilizers. Maybe once they have nothing to feed on I cld feed my plant with composted cow manure as a top dressing?
Il only be using a 1000watt hps for 3 plants. But yea im guessing heat will stil b an issue. How much are the 1 tonne ac units? And are they costly to run? My garage has a wherly bird too so it wont b too good at keeping the cold air in. Though I cld try block it? Im a noob with all this. Only ever done outdoor grows so forgive my incompetence haha

the keyword in there for me was "summer" lol. That should be max heat to have, you should be fine
Haha the fact he said he was stoned is more than forgivable. Iv said much much worse shit while up in the hills haha n yea it can get up to 40c sometimes. Not sure whether that wld go up or down in the garage. Getting a thermometer asap

Yeah top dressing more compost and ewc and other things would be the most organic way to go rather than buying bottled nutes, especially if you don't have a good selection there. Youre definitely on the right track. A portable 1 ton AC you can usually find anywhere from 300-500 bucks, shouldn't be that costly to run, you can let your garden be 80-85 degrees F without any issues as long as you keep them watered properly, you could even mist them a few times a day when its real hot to cool them down

Yea sweet. Def incorporate EWC. so wld I just duct air directly from ac unit into tent? An use that as my intake?

The garage im planning on putting my tent in is tin roof with 1 whirley bird and maybe absbestos walls. So no insulation. I can get my outtake air filter directing air theough whirley bird n intake from ground level. My question is what is the maximum air temp I can get away with, as in the air the intake is taking from garage? Was in there before n was hot as

Dude if you have good intake/outtake with plenty of airflow, temps will be manageable. That's like saying "oh cant grow outdoors as its too hot"...Cooler the better obviously, but you should be fine
