Yea I hear ya. Just I want to run a 1000watt hps in a 4x4 tent. Thinking im gunna get some accoustic ducting going from window of garage (sucking fresh air in) to bottom of tent. Then have a growlight og air cooled hood, with canfilter can 66 flanged on one side of hood, ducting on other side of hood, headin out of top of tent into a
CAN FAN MAX 150L 780M3/HOUR 129WATTS (my grow room will be 2.88m3 ) with more ducting head out of whirly bird on roof? Read that if u can get air in room changing every 2-4 minutes thats the go. Was gunna get a portable a/c-dehumidifyer unit for inside tent to regulate temp and r/h but with that much air exchange dont think it would even really do anything

I 1000 w hps in that small of an area can create some heat problems... especially down under..
in a 4x4 anyways...
wait, so you are not metric is that 4x4 meters or feet? aren't you in Australia?
4x4 feet is a small area for a 1000hps, you will have temp probs, i'd get a switchable ballast that does a 600 w setting for three plants, and then when you upgrade (because we always do) you can just switch the ballast over to 1000.
but a 4x4 area with a 1000 w in Australia? gonn cook em man, unless you pump 1kwh of AC all the time, gotta remember most ACs use 10 amps or so @115v. that's more than your light....

Yea true. Dont think a/c will b worth it anyway. Gunna b pullen air from out side n dont think itl b much use inside tent with fresh air filln room every couple of minutes. How about a 5x5? (Feet) 1.5m. I want the 1000w for the yield side of things. But dont want to get a tent 2 big where im gunna need to run more than one hood for coverage. Also il b def going for a good brand aircooled hood. So you recon 5x5 wld b ok?

hmm maybe... but I've never been down to Australia before... it's pretty hot there, a 1000 is a LOT of heat... maybe with enough ventilation, but the kicker is in order to not burn your plants you're going to have the lamp far away from the tops, that's why sometime in a high heat setting or a smaller grow a 600w is actually better
maybe less is more in this case. You can get it much closer than a 1000.
get a light meter. or a fancy camera that reads footcandles.
Couple that with a thermometer and you can see which combo is the best, but I would get the switchable just in case you want to bump it down.
