need to get a better ballast for my lights its all secure just looks trashy kind of ran out of money

i got the grow lights that come with it and 2 extra cfls 26 watt now not sure about anything else it gets hot in there no way to vent it which is a problem with heat stays about 80 degrees in the most the time but i keep the door open when lights come on

So how's your situation for doing a little modification to the room? Do you live in a house or an apartment?

If you live in a house, then you could run ducting into the attic and out the roof through a bathroom exhaust after buying a high output fan and carbon filter. Same could be said for some apartments...

What I ended up doing for flowering the first time was leaving the tent doors open and setting my schedule for when I knew I would be home. My lights turned off two hours after I got off work, so I would go home, check 'em and put 'em to sleep. =))

My temps always stayed around the mid 70s.

Also, try getting an oscillating fan or not leaving your fan directly on your plants for long periods of time. Could cause damage.

im now starting to hit problems my leaves are starting to show interesting sighs something is wrong its obvious it could be my lights to hot/ or neut-rents but like i said im new to hydro still got my soil roots im using the aerogarden tablets but still not sure what route-en i should be feeding them i have 2 extra cfs sometimes i turn them on but it creates to much heat im planning on buying a new door because the apt im living in is impossible to make modification to considering how old the building is the wouldnt let us even touch the paint but said nothing about a new door http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbianOlLN9Y

i will get a new fan tomorrow didn't know about the direct fan's could cause damage
considering on buying an indoor grow cabinet or making one might be a better solution instead of closet that i cant modify

Hey Jacson, Welcome to RIU..:-)

Plants looking good !!:leaf:

Couple of thoughts..

pH levels are so important...get a simple test kit if you haven't already..5.5 to 6.5 is acceptable.. raise or lower as needed...

Reservoir temps are more critical than outside room ambient temps...get an aquarium water temp gauge...68 degrees is best , the higher it gets the slower they grow...

Good luck with you're grow, :peace::peace::peace:

We'll need to see some pics of the problem before we can make a proper diagnosis. There are so many possibilities.

The fan will strengthen the stems, but if they aren't allowed time to heal, they'll eventually fall over.

Nice post, Mr. Natural. =))

ok i got my ph about 6.0 i dont want to use to much the 1st day to prevent shocking my plants the ph of my water here off the sink is about 7.5 so that's what the problem was im pretty sure here are some pics lemmy know if im wrong IMG_1253.jpgIMG_1247.jpgIMG_1246.jpgIMG_1251.jpgIMG_1248.jpg

also i wasnt sure if i used to much neutrents so i dumped out the old water used one tablet and gonna start changing both weekly

also i bought some led lights online here they are 51kK5KTg3eL._SS400_.jpg51ipf2wS0EL._SS400_.jpg should be here in 2 days but i figured better than my cfl heat problem

Definitely need to keep the pH under control. Fluctuation can cause all sorts of problems, including nutrient lockout. Stay on top of it.

You could try letting your water sit out over night before hand. That will allow some of the chemicals to evaporate out, leaving you with a little more stable water.

As far as LEDs go, I don't know much. I do know they are still a technology in development, so don't be disappointed if they don't perform as well as you'd hoped, but yes, they produce very little heat. =))

ok so i tried everything to get my ph down nothing seemed to work i ordered this51-Hnb3L1NL._SL500_AA300_.jpg515THC6PAYL._SL500_AA300_.jpg figured the neut-rents are better than the pellets that made the pump break from them not breaking up all the way

There you go...I swear I can check my pH with my eyes closed...maybe not...
I'd go easy on the nuets at first maybe 1/4 strength. Use a siphon hose drain the res make your adjustments then return...can't go wrong that way..

Have you got an air pump for that res?

ok i was about to ask about the fox farm considering im changing what do you mean siphon hose??? i have the small test tube but are you meaning to reuse the water?? or should i change the water every time i add the fox farm and adjust its ph also i was gonna ask if someone knows anything about changing from the aerogarden neut tablets to fox farm should i start it as the instructions say or move on down the line a little bit

yes i have the airstone too

Ok jacson, this is what I'd do..

Flush the res out, get rid of the cheap tabs...New water, pH balanced at 6.0,1/4 strength fox farm...

Right now its easy to just dump your res may not always be that way, if so then use a siphone...reuse the water, the pH is going to rise every day. I check it, usually its high , I drain it, adjust it , then yes put it back, don't add nuets again until its time to flush again, like in a week or 2...But very soon they will just drink so much more and the AG res is so small it wont be an issue...mine drink a gallon a day full strength nutes and all every day....just gotta go slow to start out

Jacson here we go. I´ll try to give some help. I grew 4 times in my aerogarnde deluxe
There is my setup:

- Aerogarden Deluxe ( always running in a tomato setting )
- 400w HQI for veg
- 400w Hps For flora
- 2 Cfl´s 30w
- Trio Fox Farm ( grow big hydro, big bloom and tiger ) always half straight ps: Start feeding after 2 weeks on aerogarden, only water needs.
- 3 air pumps /3 air stones
- Timer
- Ph meter
- EC meter
- Ph up, Ph down
- Fan

1) Seeding without aerogarden after that you transfer to aerogarden
2) maintain your Ph between 5.8 - 6.5
3) Use destilled or mineral water

Here We go some pics the my last grow - 4 Black Jack strain

Peace deude. Happy Grow
