i like the idea or the net pot except that i cut those holes only an inch wide...Only bit i had...if i widened them i would ruin the lid or have to replace it and start over. it's an option.
They make a 1 in net pot. Plus you got that tub at walmart for 12.95 if you needed to get another it would allow you to have interchangable tops

i see your using float n' grows by sunleaves or a similar product, do you like em? i use them as well but have noticed an algae on em.... and slower growth due to how absorbant they are....

nice set up!! tell me your thoughts on the floats.. thanks
thank you...i like the "floats" i think your talkin bout the rapid rooters and ya i had algae on them when they were in the cool cab but now on the ebb-n-flows ...no more!

Alge form where light is.
Also if you mix 1 tsp of 35% h2o2 per gallon that will solve all those problems

Your welcome and thnaks for the rep
ya thanks.....i got it nowadays but when i was growin in a cool cab i didnt have a clue......my album in my signature has the pics of most of my stuff! i use the h2o2 in the cloner and will use it in the main tanks as soon as i switch to chemical nutes.

by the way do you run your mister/sprayer 24/7 with the rapid rooters?

When I plant my seeds (every once and a while clones), I put them in the plugs then in a humidity dome. Once they are ready to come out of there the go into their net pots, now with neo tops, and there they live out the remainder of their days. You could leave them in the cloner you made and grow them in there (Though a min 2" pot for that). The only problem you will have is your chamber is also your res. So once the roots got long enough it would become a deep water culture.

As for timers I am going to repost one for before

First ask yourself what is the point of aeroponics?
To increase O2 to the root system. If your water is always on then your roots are always wet. If they are always wet then they are relying on the O in H2O. So basically put deep water culture (effective) BUT just because it provides results doesn't mean you cant do better. If you give your plants time to "dry/drink" they will take in the o2 from the air. then spray, they grab nutes and so on. Another VERY important factor is the temp of your water.the difference between 65deg water and 75deg water is 65 has upto 60% more o2 .

This is just a theory... but it makes sense to me.

What is the point of aeroponics?

To increase the oxygen to the root system. Doesn't this happen when the nutrients and water are misted? Just like the way they have air rocks that go into the bottom of deep water systems to oxygenate the water, but instead it's pumped directly into the air delivering the 'super oxygenated' water to the plant's roots.

Am I wrong? If i'm right does this mean 24/7 spray is not only A-OK but optimal?
