I am trying to come to a conclusion to my reservoir temperature issues.
I do not want to spend a couple hundred bucks on a chiller just yet. in the mean time i've been throwing frozen bottled waters in my reservoir to keep temps down.
the guy at the hydroponics store suggested that i can have a bucket/reservoir thats tied into my main reservoir. The secondary res have my pump(which creates slight heat) and have a few 2 liter frozen bottled waters in it. So that my roots are not sitting (if they are long enough) on ice , and also so that the temperature is more blended in (warm and cold) rather than just blasting it with An ALL the sudden low temp.
After thinking about it all day, it might actually work. If i load the secondary reservoir up with a crap load of 2 liter frozen waters it should keep cool all day on a warm day.
I am sure others have already been through this , and possibly have a second reservoir for specifically this.
Any inputs on how yours or ones you have seen are mapped out. I am still trying to figure out how my layout is going to be . (how its all gonna tie into each other)..
I'd prefer something less stationary, meaning having them connected with something that will be easy to disconnect and change reservoirs. i do not want both reservoir's permanently connected to each other..
Any input would be great..
This is the only draw back with aeroponics, keeping that temp around 68f without spending a couple hundred bucks on a chiller.
