we've got an afghan kush ryder (landrace strain) growing now into its fifth week with no flowering happening. We ran her 24/7 for four weeks then over to 20/4 as we always do. We have done primarily auto's for the last 5 years and have a lot of experience growing them as well as photoperiod plants.
We've been growing for 40 years with 20 of those indoors, so we're not new to the scene by any means. However, this is our first landrace strain.
We are using 50/50--FF Happy Frog and Oregon Organics soil mix,
We've been holding the lights at at steady 8-10 inches above the plant. the light is bright, gives good coverage and runs cool. There is supposed to be only one phenotype for this plant. Height of 40-80 cm, short bushy, one main cola.
Our plant is very tall, 140cm tall, lanky, and very strange looking. We've never grown a plant that looks like this one. I've attached a few photos. Notice how long the internode branches are. We are not sure why the long lengths between branches either.
Two days ago we decided to switch to 18/6 to see if we can somehow force flowering. She looks healthy, but not very strong. The fans have been blowing since 2 inches tall. Like i said we've been doing this a long time and have never had anything like this happen.
Any EXPERIENCED growers have any ideas on this beast?
PS. Photos were taken right before we watered her with plain water.

Our only switch up has been to try out a timber LED grow light, as we are thinking of switching to all LEDS using Timber lighting. So this in a way is an experiment for us to try out whether we like the lights or not before we go and plant our regular 6 plant spring grow. We typically have used MH n HPS but due to heat and expanding our grow shed we want to use LEDs.- Buddha Grow,
- Buddha Bloom
- Trinity
- HPK
- Cal-Mag as needed w/no nitrogen.
- Two fans going,
- Using LST. The photo's don't reflect it in the photos as we took them right before re-adjusting the tie-downs.
