well what I was asking is, if I just topped my plant and fimmed the side branches. Do I wait a week to start flower, do I wait 2 weeks?
I am growing 1 plant in coco.
The plant is a pure kush from seed.
The plant will be 3 weeks old monday.
The plant is female.

You don't have to wait after FIMing to flip to flower. You can even FIM during the first week or two of flower on strains that stretch more.

Timing for flower flip is usually determined based on canopy. You want a full canopy using all of your light by the time flower is over. So you flip when you think the plants are sized correctly vs their typical amount of stretching during flower. Flip stretchy strains when smaller, less stretchy strains flip when larger.

I agree that it is probably safe at any time, but if you want to be extra safe you could wait a little bit rather than put two types of stress on the plant at once. Wait until you see growth again after the cuts and you'll know it has bounced back. Should only take a few days in most cases.
