Hey guys i gotta question for you all im using Reverse osmosis water and i just flushed my plants as they are nearing that great time were everything we have done is showing why it is we do it. But when using my RO water i always add some sensi cal from Advanced Nutrients im not a AN fan and dont use any of there products other than the sensi cal to add to the RO water. But my question being after i flush should i just use straight RO water or add a little bit of the sensi cal like maybe 3 ml per gallon i usually go with about 8 to 6 ml per gallon with no real ill effects on the plants. So just use the RO water straight or even use some tap water? Any help would be great i figured i would post it over here cause its the first stage to the lead up of the harvest. Dont you guys just love it when they blow up after. I will post some pics after i get an answer i have a black afy out on the deck right now. Oh hell i just took a few pics for you i have some more inside under 1800 watts of hps.

You are in soil. Unless your water is really bad, there isn't a need for RO. And to flush soil you need to add a min of 3 times the water to the pot size. So that being said useing 9 gallons of RO water waste 18to27 gallons of water. Good for feeding, you know what's in it. But I think it's a waste for flush. Soil will leave trace elements anyways so I would say just use tap as is. Or if your bent on RO. Flush means adding nothing. I'm hydro but when I flush I don't even ph the water. Don't mean to be mean or start anything just saying how I see it.
Oh I just had an idea. If you want it as clean as possible. Why not flush with tap first then flush with RO? Good looking plants man

im sorry you i might not have stated my question clearly. I have already flushed the plants i use tap water for that atleast three times the amt of of the pot. My question was if i still use ro water after the flush to water the plant should i add some sensi cal to the ro water or just nothing plain ro water the reason i ask is cause tap water has some calcium and magnesium in it not large amounts but more than the zero thats in RO water. I know the plant is going to get cut down soon but will the sensi cal affect the taste if i continue to add it to my RO water. I always flush a few weeks before there ready which is 10 days atleast before then it takes about 3 to 4 days to dry up water it then a few days goes by water it again just regular like then for its final water i flush it and put it back under the lights for a few days then it goes in the dark for 72 hrs or so maybe longer depending if im lazy but if the plant is drying out in the pot then i cut it up but theres still usually enough moisture in the pot to sit in the dark for 72 hrs without getting dry to the point the buds dry out.

Just use plain RO. Even after you flushed with tap the soil still hold trace nutes. The plant will take them up. RO will help clean as much as possible. And you have about 3 or 4 waterings left so you will be fine.

your plants are ungodly fucking fat man!!! what is your secret? im amazed how you can grow plants like that but don;t know how to flush. not being a prick, but im fucking impressed. i think im missing something cuz my buds are not even half that size. damn you!!! now i have to start all over from scratch!!! please pm me some more pics so i can do nasty things to them. god those nugs are gi-normous!!!

and ps. i do the 72+hours of darkness. i see that is does add some stickyness and sweetness to the trichs. as far as flushing i just stop all nutes the last 2 weeks. i have found that whatever dif can or will come on from lack of cal/mag has not enough time to set in. plus, your leafs are yellowing (im hella colorblind, i think they are in the pics). from a lack of cal/mag the only thing the plants will do is turn a rust brown color. but if you are using a cal/mag product it very well should be stored up to get you through the last few weeks. plus man, by looking at the size of them buds, i would just use plain R/O water, no cal/mag. weather or not you need to ph it or not is based on the ph of the water as is. my R/O water is about 7.0+ out the faucet. and when i dont add nutes to my plants (which is only a few times in veg and the final 2 weeks, but just R/O water the last 2 weeks) i still use 5ml of Cal/Mag from Botanicare, and Hygrozyme 5ml. then i ph it to 6.7 or 6.8. that is my "plain water" water. i even use that for seedling but i add Roots by Humboldt at 2ml/gal. i have noticed this gets them used to nutes right away. i kinda have to worry bout salt build ups. but fuck me after seeing your pics, im going back to the drawing board. DAMN YOU!!! lol!!!

thank you ohsin i think the secret to the fat buds is how much light i use that is a good reason for the fattness of her buds i put them under a 1000 watt light and have like two or three 400 watt hps for side lightings that are mounted side ways. The more light the bigger the buds i do truly believe this plant would have gotten bigger buds if a friend of mine that grows wouldnt have come over to check them out and when he did he brought pollen into my room cause i had no hermies nothing and they got pollinated after all his plants did i think it was on his clothes and when he stepped in front of the fan you know the story i could easily count ten seeds per plant but i have read it doesnt hurt your potency. Another key to big buds is that you have to be patient enough for them to really mature and start swelling like they look like they have seeds but they really dont. The reason she is turning yellow is cause she is nearing the end of her life cycle shes at about 12 weeks from the switch by the end of the week she will go into the dark shes putting off her last bit of hairs then shes gonna be done. I will take a picture of some of the others tommarow. They are getting close to finishing and they have good sized buds also.

When flushing and if you do, some don't just use plain RO water.. I ph mine but some even don't do that. You don't want extra chemicals that the plant can take up when you're trying to rid them of the chemicals in the first place?!

Man those are fat colas!!!! I use two 1000W and cant get Colas that fat.. I think the combo of your lights and big ass pots are the reason for huge colas " bigger the roots bigger the fruits " I use R/O water and yes I flush with just straight R/O water during the 72 hour dark period. I used to worry about PH , but now I just flush with straight R/O water.

How would using water with no ionic charge remove more molecules that are ionically bound to the soil than tap that actually contains ions?

Why do people pH flush-water when the idea is to stop the uptake of nutrients, not allow it to happen more efficiently?

Why does flushing not make one single lick of sense when you look at actual real world physics, chemistry and biology?

Goes to show that a few folks love the taste of unflushed bud.

Gotta hate that smooth chronic flavour...

What this really goes to show is that people are so impatient they think they can achieve a shorter dry/cure by giving their plant deficiencies for the two weeks they put on the most weight.

A slow dry and cure is all anyone needs, the only way to get a "cleaner" smoke is with hash or watercured buds.

Simples.

I was thinking this exact same thing. I am also using R/O water in soil so I did a little researching. What I found was that you probably don't want to just flush out all the nutrients, you just want there to be much less than during the mid-late flowering. The plant will still use up all stored energy because their isn't enough present in the medium to support growth. In my opinion, the plants need the calcium to grow, that's why we give it to them, so give it to them. Your plants look like they are already naturally using up that stored energy so unless you have excessive build up of fertilizers you don't need to go overboard on the water. I personally water between every feeding anyway so I just watered thoroughly the last 2 waters and will harvest them in a couple days.

I got lucky though, it poured the other day so I just got a bunch of rain water and used that.

Rain water works real good. If your plant is growing the most the last two weeks before harvest, I would wait a few more weeks next time. Harvesting early will effect your quality and yield (but is a common mistake).

Thank you all for your comments i dont flush with the RO water cause i got down to the store 3 times a week to fill up 4 of the 5 gallon jugs i use tap water to do the flushing with a little bit of final phase. Thank you all for the kind words on the size of my buds that plant in the first page was a black afy plant that i topped for 6 tops the plant would have been much bigger if i wouldnt have topped it i bet but i had to learn. That plant i put in a 5 gallon pot to date thats the biggest pot i have used in flowering inside im gonna go with them everytime now. But that being said i have achieved a bigger plant and bud than that with a 3 gallon pot. I will post a picture of that one it was a master Kush from Nirvana seeds i really loved that plant. i only vegged it for a month then to flowering and got 103 grams dried off of it. the last bud picture was the Ice i cant find the other pictures and dont have time right now.

You know final phase is 95.5% water and 4.5% glucose/fructose? Ie. REALLY weak sugar water? It says so right on the front of the bottle.

Does it get the "nutrients out of the buds" real good?

*facepalm*

EDIT: Actually, if I put 45g of sugar in 1L of water, any of you "flushing agent" users wanna pay me $15 a bottle? Free international shipping.

I cant speak for all these people that say a flush doesnt matter as long as you have a slow cure. I can say that this is bullshit these people saying this i feel are wrong but to themselves they may not be. This is why i think this everyone is different we all know this as with every strain. Each strain has a different number of trichomes (THC level) and different terpens that bring out the taste. People as like plants are different and some people have better taste senses than others. I myself am a supertaster. You think im making it up but im not you can do some research on it if you would like. I just simply have more taste buds on my tongue in turn creating a mouth that can taste everything. I can taste different things in food that people wouldnt even know are there. So this is no different than when i smoke some ganja. My thought is these people that dont flush dont have these great taste buds so they dont need to flush cause they like the way there bud tastes. Is this wrong to tell people you dont need to flush IMO yes it is because of all the stuff that goes up the plant with all the nutes people feed these days isnt good. A good portion of nutes are heavy metals that are drawn up through the plant creating heavier buds. If your a medical grower or anything along those lines you need to flush cause some people with auto immune diseases can get violently sick from all the shit in the buds some people are growing.
And whoever said do you know final flush is just water and sugar yes bud i know this I just bought the shit and would rather not have it go to waste so im trying to use it up.
Back to the flush thing before i post this you can always tell when someone doesnt flush or if they used a good bit of nutes even a slow curer wont correct the problem that you get when you smoke the bud all that black nasty oily ash and sparks in your bowl a good flushed bud or an organic grown bud when burnt has a nice white clean ash and no sparks in the bowl when its not even lit.
