After Germination?

Ok here is my story! I ordered 5 feminized Northern Lights seeds from Nrivana seeds. I received the 6 days later and was pleased! After doing some research I learned there are several ways to germinate seeds! So I decided instead of trying to germ all 5 at once I would try 2. Because I am growing in my closet, So I dont have alot of space.

(This is my first attempt at growing so I dont know much!)
1st Seed:I decided to try 2 different ways of germinating. I have my 1st seed in 3 moist paper towels, on a plate covered by a plate. That seed has been in there for 24 hours. I just checked it an the seed cracked and I can see the little root coming out. Should I leave that seed in for another 24 hours or plant it now? I dont think enough of the root is out to make it take growth!

2nd Seed: I put my second seed in a shot glass full of water, it has also been in there for 24 hours. I have noticed no visable difference in this seed what so ever. It is sitting on the bottom of the glass but has not cracked at all. What should I do with this seed?

After I feel the seeds need to be planted, I plan on putting them in this organic potting mix I bought. And keep them under constant like 24 hours a day for 2 weeks. I Currently Have 2 CFL Lights. Im not sure where to check the 6500 k or what not? I'm not 100% sure on what to do after the seeds germinate. Plant them immidaetly in my organic mix in the 8 inch pots I bought or move then to a smaller pot. And should I keep them under constant light or what?! Also how long can I keep my other 3 seeds before they go bad? Because this is a small closet grow. I can only grow two plants at once! Please any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks guys! :joint::hump:

first of all i think you have more reading. go get 2 23 real watt cfls and 2 42 watts cfls. make sure its true wattage and not the equivelent wattage. the spectrum is is the kelvins. the lower the number like 2700k is closer to the red end of the spectrum that represents fall or auttumn and afternoons and morning. the 6500k bulbs represent summer time and is the backbone of your lights. with the 4 lights you should go get plus the two that you already have you will have plenty. i would take the seed out of the water and plant it when you plant the other seed. you can stick the germinated seed in the ground now and it will grow. your extra seeds shouldnt go bad as long as they are stored properly. a guy on here said a couple weeks ago that he was growing a plant from a seed that his dad had for 20 some odd years. you also want a fan in the closet

Ok thanks bro. I have a fan in there now. I just don't know if that seed is ready to be planted. Should I plant it in the big 8 inch pot in plan on putting it in?

you said your seed was at the bottom of the shot glass

so dont that mean that its drowning ?

to the best of my knowlage they should float at the top !!!

i always just use the paper towel method ( works for me )

I currently use the following method to germ my seeds

I ph some water to 6
half fill a shot glass
Drop the seed into it
Soak it for around 6hours
Plant it into my medium 1/16 inch down
Water it in
Cover it with a humidity dome
PLace it on 18/6 under a 6400k 24w T5

then wait

Once the seed pops its head out of the medium i remove the humidity dome.

I used to allow the seed to soak for a very long time eg 24hours and the seed used to sink like you have . I just used to plant it in my medium if it sank. Now i do not wait that long at all. I just want to give it enough water to get it activated (so to speak) then i plant it.
