Agent Orange 10pk, Orange pheno hunt

So after wanting to try some TGA gear for a while now I finally acquired some Agent Orange from The A-tude. The description on Sub's site had me hook line and sinker. I know everyone has their own desires but I really want some orange flavored dank. The strain is said to range from lemons, oranges, and whiskey sour cocktail. So before I go any further I am looking for oranges, I completely understand that the other phenos are probably amazing in their own right but my desires are clear and orange it must be. I guess maybe since I have run a few lemon flavored strains out now and I have never had nugs that taste as orange as described. So lets hope this grow can cure that..... :eyesmoke:

Beans on deck...

10 of 10 popped and were placed into 6" pots under a 400MH to begin Veg day 1.

Veg day 3...

Veg day 11. Plants are now in 2 gallon pots and were topped a couple days ago. A few of the plants are not happy at all. I cannot figure out what might have happened for all the other plants are as happy as can be....

Veg day 18.(10 Agent Orange, 2 Blueberry, 2 Bagseed) Had to turn on 2nd 400watt due to plants size. My other MH bulb burnt so had to put in the HPS instead. Sick plants continue to get worse. Just as the new growth looks good the rest just drags it back down. Even if they pull through they will be far behind. Would like to cull them but if they are female I will run their clones again to make sure I at least try them twice. Maybe I made an error so they wont die just yet..... hell sometimes even plants deserve a 2nd chance.

Veg day 18 cont. Individual plant pics. #'s 4 & 5 are obviously the sick ones. #7 showed a little distress but looks to be overcoming it fine.

Thanks for stoppin in. This is the first TGA strain I have been able to get. I have been dying to get my hands on Space Bomb. Unfortunately I could not capitalize on the promo w/ The Attitude for the Space Bomb freebies but hopefully I can get my hands on some in the future. Feel free to throw up any pics you want.

A few pics of the lepers...
IMG_3363.jpgIMG_3364.jpgIMG_3365.jpgIMG_3366.jpg

Flower day 7: The 6 plants to the left under the MH are my 2xBlueberry clones which are female and 4 A.O.'s that are already thought to be showing female on day 7. This is very early and nothing will be culled without waiting for guaranteed signs of sex. But as of now #'s 2,3,7,9 are thought to be female and the rest males. The crazy thing is every time I have ever popped beans the strongest, most vibrant plants tend to be males while the gals catch up. So to my amazement the most vigorous beautiful plants look to be the gals while the sick ones males. Nice change of pace.
IMG_3379.jpgIMG_3380.jpg

Flower day 11: So out of 10 beans we have 5 females... #'s 2,3,7,8,9 and none of them are the sick plants!!!!! I'm so damn happy about that. I would have hated for one of my females to be scrapped in the search for oranges. So after finding the females we have 5 A.O. females and my 2 Blueberry clones under one 600HPS. Tomorrow they will be transplanted into larger pots and both 600's will be turned on. I really wanted to flower these sooner due to size but think I messed that one up.
IMG_3411.jpgIMG_3412.jpgIMG_3414.jpg

Flower day 34: Holy effin stretch... So the gals have for sure stretched a little more than anticipated but I wont put it all on them, I am sure with better canopy management and light placement I could have controlled it a little better but when you aren't runnin the same size plants it makes it a little more challenging. I understand I could have bent some or trained some but I want them to all run the same way in order to tell all the differences between them. The next run when I have picked my gal and have all the same clones should run a little smoother.
IMG_3432.jpg

Flower day 42: Very exciting times my friends... for the first few weeks all the gals had the same old green plant smell but know they have come into their own and are giving me samples of whats to come. Two of the ladies are giving off a very very nice sharp tangy lemon smell I take they have gotten from the JTR side of things, one has the whiskey sour smell going on, maybe a mix of the two plants, and the other two are smelling very orange. One a little subtle but the other is just like slicing open a fresh orange. And I know because I have an orange tree in my back yard. All I can hope is that this keeps its course and I have the orange gal I have been wanting. She is the tallest, lankiest, stretchiest plant out of them all but I have know doubt I can tame this quite a bit. Lets keep them fangers crossed.

Nice pics man. I'm picking my Agent Orange as well right now. That orange dankness is amazing. I'm smoking it right now as well, I might even say I like it more than Plushberry. It really depends on the day.

So here's another update, but first let me point out that I messed up on my last post. I had stated that the gals were in flower on days 34 & 42. This was a huge typo. The gals in the pics for day 34 were day 19, and the pics stated for day 42 were on day 27. So here we are today with the 5 Agent Orange females on day 35. The smell on the individual plants is great. None of the 5 have the same smell but all 5 smell superb! I will pull them out and take some individual pictures for the next update but until then enjoy and thanks for stoppin in.

Are your Agent Orange girls heavy feeders ?
Thanks,
SOD.
Not at all, I haven't had to give them anything. I am actually teaching a friend my poor man's organic method. He asked me to show him the cheapest, easiest, but still great way to grow his own organic meds. So these are all grown in roots soil only with R/O water amended with cal-mag. Every two weeks in bloom I give them a tea of 1/4 cup big bloom, and 7ml gal of molasses but even this is not necessary, no nutrients to buy or anything. Just dirt, pure water, and cal mag, and these ladies are happier than a tornado in a trailer park. And if I would just add a little bit of my waste water to my R/O water to an acceptable PPM range I could cut out the Cal-Mag also. Just vegged the plants in 2.5 gallon pots with roots soil and kept them in there until their first two weeks in bloom were through and then t-pant into 5 gallon pots of roots and that's enough until harvest. No I am sure this will get picked apart by everyone telling me I need this and that and dont transplant during bloom etc... but I am simply showing a friend how someone with limited resources can grow their own organic meds by means that suit them. And seeing how R/O water is a neutral 7 PH you can also cut out the PH meter. I have seen no difference in the plants I left at a PH of 7 and the plants I lowered it to 6.5. Although I do have a PPM pen.

looks pretty obvious that the a.o. yields as advertised. looking good bro, you seem to be a skilled and tidy grower.

Cool. Your running Cal/Mag to compensate for the R/O water?
Sounds like you got it together. I'm running UCDWC system, round two sence the rebuild. I want to run Agent Orange next run but am playing hell getting the seeds (my fault ) not Tudes.
Your girls look sweet, will be checking your progress out.
Thanks.

I'm pretty happy with their size already and if they put on their weight in the final weeks as advertised I should be in for a real treat. And thanks for the kudos, I really love cleanliness and organization. I guess the USMC is to blame for that but its a good trait to have. A clean and uncluttered living space helps to have a clear and uncluttered mind.

Yea I use a small boy stealth r/o system that brings the ppm down to about 9 PPM, then I either add some of the waste water back until the PPM reaches 150 PPM or add General Organics Cal-Mag+ at 15 drops per gallon. I will probably use my Cal-Mag until the bottle runs out then go back to just adding some waste water. I haven't really noticed a difference in this either. Thanks for stoppin in, I really hope you can get a hold of some beans soon. I bet in the DWC they explode with buds. I'm organic soil myself but am looking into running a single DWC bucket for shits and gigs. Even thought its not my forte there's no hurt in being skilled in multiple methods I guess. Knowledge is power. Take Care

they look excellent bro.......following tight.....nugs
Great to have you along Nugs! Know where Commerce Township MI is? I visited a friend there a few years ago. Lets just say my redneck accent was all the laughs up north.

They are looking great so far! I love AO but it has been awhile.

I know what you mean I ran in straight roots before and had better results than when I tried playing around with bottled nutes. I normally would transplant up weeks before flowering otherwise my rootballs didn't seem to reach into the new soil but I wasn't using HID for vegging so that may be why.

The waste tapwater might have significant ammonia/pharmaceuticals/pesticides/herbicides/metals etc. You can make your own calmag concentrate by dissolving pulverized dolomite lime in R/O water. You need an acid to dissolve the dolomite. I tried carbonic acid which was a ton of work but citric acid did the job easily. Pulverized dolomite is usually available at Lowes 40 lbs for $4 and citric acid powder I found on eBay.

Good luck finding your orange girls!

The waste water that comes from the waste side is still goes through my sediment and chlorine filters, just not the R/O membrane, so yea I checked the hydrologic website and my filter specs. The waste water still will have some iron and sulfer in it which isn't so bad in small amounts but I dont know if they catch the herbicides, pesticides, ammonia, etc. I would have to find the micron size of these contaminants an reference back to the filter specs. But I do not have an expensive filter so I am sure they make it through. Although I have used the waste water method with outstanding results; I know now there is a possibility for these things to end up in the meds for myself and patients. And knowing means I am responsible for eliminating this from happening. Thank you for the warning it is much appreciated. I will stick with adding cal mag to the R/O water for now.
