Agrosun Gold Metal Halide: Flowering?

Well, I have the following scenario:

1- 30 inch plant of unknown strain
1- 250 Watt MH Agrosun Gold

And the option to switch to 1- 400 watt HPS

For those of you that don't know, the Agrosun Gold bulb is a metal halide with enhanced red spectrum. They are expensive (~$70-80 for one 250 watt bulb).

Since they have a balanced spectrum, it is claimed by the manufacture to be the best of both worlds and they even (and I quote):

GROSUN Halides OUTPERFORM Common Sodiums in 4.5" Geranium Test* - 45% More Flowers Produced, 25% More Axillary Branching!* Representatice of Geranium responses only. Other crop types will vary in response.

So, my dilemma is that the 400 watt will output more light, and the HPS is supposed to be better for flowering but I also have potential heat issues.

So I want to ask you: should I flower out the plant with the Agrosun Gold and report back the results as a sort of review, or go with the HPS?

It has already been flowering for a few weeks and it is one huge bush with many bud sites. It certainly doesn't look like it's having any trouble flowering, quite the opposite actually. But for the want of intellectual curiosity, should I "review" this bulb?

I going to be upgrading to these next. A book i have read says theyt are absoultely the best lights to get. They produce more lumens than a regular MH bulb and I believe they have more usable light than HPS.
