hi guys..

ive got a 600 watter on some babies... going to add another 600, having an issue with the heat build up that is to come.. the grow room is in a toilet and i have no means what so ever of venting outside. every now and again i open the windows and the door for a little while, seems to been fine.. i've just been using a fan at the moment..

thinking of investing in a portable air con.. just want to check out the facts first..

i read this statement while researching.

"If you don't want to invest in a portable A/C unit. Remember, heat is not an issue, it is when that hot air is not moving that creates hot spots for your plants and later leading to heat stress.'

could i just blast some fans to prevent the heat causing stress?

or is an air con worth the investment?kiss-ass

you could position a few of the fans so they're blowing over the tops of your plants which will blow some of the heat from your lights away from the tops of your plants.opening a window is good(if thats all you can do)for getting rid of the old air.its important you replace the air in your toilet just to keep the air supply as fresh as you can.
ive never used a a/c unit so i cant answer that question.

cheers resinous... i've given you a little reppin love for the quick and clear reply..

so far then, to reduce heat stress, blasting some fans over the plants is fine..

more opinions most appreciated. x

Be careful re the smell, during flowering it gets pretty strong, depending on the strain. I'm not sure of your setup/location. If opening the window works stick with it, and add fans to keep the air moving...... its a pitty u can't add cool tubes....

If it is in a bathroom is there a fart fan? If so turn that on, it will greatly help to reduce heat, but in my opinion any temp above 90 for any sustained time is going to cause loss of production, no matter how many fans you have in there. That being said, you can never have too many fans, for my 7x7 flower room i have 1 intake (1250 cfm) 1 exhaust (1250 cfm) 2 small high flow fans on the floor, a 16" oscillating fan and a box fan, 6 fans in total, and i am thinking of how i can get more in there. Stagnant air is bad for the plants.

smell isn't the issue currently... i'll be purchasing a carbon filter..

trueno, i have a fart fan however it seems to only work in conjunction with the light :( ... moving the hot air at high speed surely will cool it greatly though?
hmmmmmm.. maybe i should buy a portable aircon then..

Pull the light bulb out of the fan then, they are at least 50 cfm which will at least help. Otherwise rip that bitch out of the ceiling (typically you can remove the fan and leave the housing) and put an inline fan in that vents to the attic (assuming its the top floor) or the floor void, if nothing else you will have heated floors for the winter.

sorry trueno.. i didn't explain properly... the light and 'fart fan' (lol) are connected to one switch. when the light turns on the it activates the fan which is on som kind of 15 minute timer then it automatically turns off.. I'm not much of an electrician at all so its a no go fiddling with that..

anyone else use an aircon or fans to control their high temps?
