Air curation vs air stone

Hi all I'm setting up a few dwc buckets and brought new pump and air stones. The air stones vibrate like mad and you can hear it from the 1st floor it's that bad lol been looking up air curtains and wondered if any one has used them ? Do they work well in dwc and give off same amount of bubbles? Would love to no as there ment to be dead silent ? Thanks in advance

Never used them in dwc but my experience with aquariums tells me that the large curtains put out just as many bubbles as stones do but they seem to need cleaning more often.

I use oxystones + 45 L/M air pump. I sit within 10fy of it all say, barely know it's on

Yep, a lot more often.

The blue air stones from the pet store and wally world are crap.

I got these from the local hydro store for $3ea, plenty quiet.

Ye I have used all types of air stones. Golf balls shape, flat circle shape, small ones like the pic above. The small ones don't make no noise but don't give out as much air in my experience. I have brought some air curtains and waiting for them in post. There basically long sausage shape air stones with a sucker on it so might try sticking to the side under net pot and see what happens. I just have my pumps turned right down atm to get noise to a minimum.

i glued my hose to my bucket..i use a 6 inch aquarium "stick" bubbler..and the double pump air pumps..all from wallyworld..zero noise and cheap.
