air flow to cool below ambient?

Hello folks,

Can I use a fan to cool the temps in my res to below ambient temp?

I don't mean like blow across the water surface, I mean blow air along the outside of the res. To be more specific, my res is isolated in a small insulated box just slightly bigger than the res itself. If I put an exhaust fan near the top of this box, and have an intake vent near the bottom of this box, will the res temp drop below ambient temperature?

Thanks!

Well, I have installed a small axial fan down low pushing air into the box, and a vent up high to let air escape, so I guess we'll find out soon enough! I will post the answer here in a day or two.

Oops never got back to this. It does work. Made a small chamber around the res, insulated it, and had a passive intake, and a small exhaust fan. Cooled it a few degrees, which was all I needed. Don't know if it caused excessive evaporation though...
