I have built a grow room. Attached you will find the current layout. The room is segregated to two smaller rooms, each measuring 8' X 6' 8". Both rooms are attached to an uninsulated, detached garage. Also, both rooms are currently set up to operate completely independent of one another.
As can be seen in the first photo, I have fresh air being pulled in from the garage into both rooms. This will be fine in the spring, summer, and fall when temperatures are warmer. Right now, its in the mid 30's, thus the intake air will be cold. To combat this, I have installed heaters in both rooms. Lighting will be provided by LED, so I am not adding any heat there.
So, I had a thought... During the winter months, could I do as shown in the second attachment:
Block off the intake to the flower room
Shut down the exhaust fan in the veg room
Intake into the veg room only
Vent from the veg room to the flower room via ducting
Then exhaust out of the flower room.
It seems like a bit of a waste to be intaking cold air into both rooms. But there might be a reason why my proposed plan might not be a good idea.
Thoughts?
