Anyone used them .. got them ... or know anyone who has them ?

I picked up 4 today to give them a test drive ... wanted to know any pro's / con's .

On first look ... they are pretty funky , If the marketing is to be trusted they idea is brillient for promoting root growth and could be the way ahead for growers .

Im gonna add the findings to my Journal so you guys can see the progress and pick it apart :)

Friend said great for everything thing but finish.. Hard to hold water in those things :) Dry out fast with a big plant. "Best veg hes ever seen" I think was his quote.

Hi Ya Manic :)

Great ...First reply is a positive ... Thank you :)

The ones i got are about 4 inch and the plan is to use them for Vegging after the clone process so your feedback is exactley what i wanted to hear :) , My thinking is that promoting good root growth durin veg befor xplanting to bigger pots will have some benefits .... This is my first grow and im on a learning curve , So i just hope it works out with a good start :)

Thanks again for your Feedback :)

I've heard people complain that they can be messy, which is a problem if you are constantly moving the plants around your space. I've seen some big ones with no bottoms!

I think ManicOrganic is right too that they dry out very quickly...maybe include something with high water retention like vermiculite in your soil mix? What do you plan on using for medium?

Ill take it one further. There was a pretty big thread on RIU somewhere and one guy had taken the pot out of the equation completely and had the rootball just sitting out. I don't recommend that but I have only heard good things as far as the plant benefiting from it and it makes transplanting even easier ;)

I'm using smart pots, which are based on air pruning, but use a special material to achieve the results. This is my first run with them and I like them so far. If the root mass doesn't get as big as I want I will definitely be moving to air pots.

Hi Jerry :)

Thank's for your Reply :)

I have transplanted 4 little ones into the new pots , Into Canna Coco , The potting process was much like potting any other plant really , Got a little bit at the bottom and firmed it up over the plasic mesh... then added nice loose Coco on top , got a tiny bit spilling out of the air holes as i tamped it down but not as much as you would expect , I watered there and then to .... no spillage and the Coco compacted pretty well to seal up the holes , I was a bit nervous when i was picking them up to move them... lol i imagined them commeing open ... but they seem pretty sturdy and robust .

I guess now i just wait and see how they progress ... Im in no real rush so i will let them take full advantage of the pots untill im ready to transplant into biggers sealed pots .

Drying seems to be normal at this point as they are only small plants ...so we will see ..... Im going to add it to my journal and see if i can give them a bit of a review :)

Thanks again Jerry :)... I hope being dead is not to much of a drag for you :)

Hi ya StaySmokin :)

hehe that sounds bizzare ... but i guess that if it works for him then its all good :) , As far as transplanting ... yes it looks like it will be easy enough, Im excited to see if the rooting aspect of it actualy works .... I may need to try it again from the cloaning / seeding stage as the plants i have put in come from normal post and had spiraled a bit .... i will be paying close attention though and post my findings on my Journal :)

Thanks for your input :)
