Airstones Dying

Hey hey, man it has been an age and a half since I posted on my beloved boards... I miss this, my life has been super busy and for that reason and no other have I left you all.

So alright, I bought a crapload of these airstones off Amazon, small joints because the bins I was aerating aren't that big either, and I have a big shittin ol 8-output air pump with some ridiculous GPH capability. For the first several months, no frigging problem, but lately several of the airstones have been putting out the puniest bubbles I have ever seen, even with the pump set to full power which originally I just set it to 50% to reduce the noise output. Anyone have a solution for me??? Or at least an airstone they'd recommend that won't kill me in price, because I'll have to be replacing a LOT of them, and money's right right now.

I thought you could soak them for a few minutes in a solution of 10% bleach to water.
Then scrub then with an old tooth brush and rinse well. Should be like new.

Had the same problem as you. I found some stainless sheet metal screws that screw into the end of my air lines. They never get plugged, they don't react with the solution. You want more air you un-screw them some, less air screw them in more. You'll never have to buy an air stone again.
