A lot of the time people have airy buds because of their temperature being really high.

temps like 90 degress and up will definetly cause your buds to be really airy.

but its not just that its a whole bunch of factors lumes (light intensity), temperature, air circulation, right nutrients and right amount, a good growing medium (i've found that hydro set-ups grow denser bud usually.), not overwatering or underwatering.

more lumens.
Get ur light as close a possible to ur buds.
That's right. You want as much light penetration as you can get. As long as you have your heat under control you should be able to keep your HPS within 8-12 inches of the tops or if you have T5's/CFL's you can keep them within 2-3 inches. The farther away your light the less compact and dense your buds get.

Tight dense buds, here you go!
Temps, 75-80 (78 perfect)
Relative Humidity, 40-60% (50% perfect)
Light, flower with a minimum of 5,000 (10kL better) lumens per sq ft of canopy in the red/orange spectrum (around 2,500kelvin)
Veg under a T5 to give close internode spacing, minimum of 3,000 (5kL better) lumens per sq ft of canopy in the Blue spectrum (around 6,500kelvin)
CO2, as near to 1500ppm as possible but adequate ventilation will suffice, exchanging air between 1 & 4x per min.
Nutrients, balanced quality brand such as AN, Canna, GH, Dutch Pro. Forget stuff like MG
Good clean water, soft if possible. R/O or Bottled or distilled perfect.
Good quality genetics.
