Akorn aka Snowbud? Smoke report anyone?

Hey guys, I've got about a month (flipped 12/12 on Oct 30) to go on a freebie I got last year.
I've searched the site and the web but have not found any smoke reports. Anyone ever try/grow this strain? If so, please do share. Thanks

Akorn(aka Snowbud) is a mostly indica cannabis strain from the North Western USA originally brought over in 1995.
The name Akorn was given to the plant by the people who grew it because of it`s hard finished structure with tight cola`s the size of `baby arms` making it a great producer.
The people who smoke this type called it Snowbud because of it`s incredible resin production. Whatever you want to call this plant, growers and smokers will simply call it their favourite.

I've got that freebie as well, w/ no plans to ever run it. The majority of what I've seen on Acorn smoke is ' meh ' and less. Yours looks great. I'm a fan of TH A-Train, and hate the sage n sour - the only TH I've tried. Best of luck - some of the best smokes come from the most unexpected beans.

Thanks. I'm looking at ordering some seeds and probably will give that A-Train a try.

So far this thing has been hassle free. Not a real vigorous grower though, vegged it for about 4-5 weeks. I've run some autos that were more robust at this stage in the same environment, soil, nutes etc. I guess I'll do a smoke report if nobody else chimes in.

I've chopped it and thought I'd post a pic and a few details about this strain.
I had it under 400 watt MH for about a month during veg then 400 watt HPS for about 55 days during flower then the remaining flower time was under a 250 watt HPS.
DynaGrow nutrients with some cal mag.
Generic soil, no additives in a 5 gallon bucket with great drainage.

They claimed 55 or 60 days but I just don't see that happening, it was never strained, over watered etc. No problems and actually I probably should have went another few weeks but I'm done with this thing.

Total 12/12 flower time about 72 days then left in dark for 50 something hours before chop.
Smells like shit. In second grade some kid a few seats in front of me blew chunks allover his desk and we had to sit there and continue class even while the janitor mopped it up. I will never forget that smell of Pine-Sol and puke, this plant is a big reminder. Pine-Sol and puke is what it smells like.

Very dense, heavy buds and very dank. I cut a very small (like a marble size) sample off a few days ago and put it in a small brown bag in my closet and closed the door. It was very evident even with the closet door closed.

I'm still a noob and a hobbyist so I don't have a vast number of grows to compare it to but considering my meager lighting it looks and feels like the yield will be decent. I still haven't tried it but will report back after it has been cured.

Nice job. I smoked something called Acorn years ago and it was stinky and stoney. I look forward to your smoke report, puke and Pinesol now may be more appealing after the cure. Good luck

I ran that freebie. Some of the biggest 13 fingered leaves I'd ever seen. ENORMOUS. But 2 weeks into flower it shot out hundreds of straight up male flowers. Not nanners. Tons of boy and girl parts everywhere. OH. And it was a "fem" bean. lol.

In a room with 50 others that didn't so much as show one nanner. There were even ch9 freebies that went off without a hitch. THseeds lost me at that point.

Hey thanks for the interest. I was just thinking today about doing the smoke report. What I'm going to do is wait until tomorrow, probably in the afternoon so I'm rested. I have been smoking some late at night but I don't normally get a lot of sleep and I'm dead tired at the time so I don't honestly think I could be very accurate unless I do it while fresh and rested.

What I can say at this is the smell has gone from bad to bearable/not too bad. I will report back tomorrow with a few nug pics and the report.

Yeah man, that's unfortunate. This one went trouble free but I'd never grow it again. I'm going to do a full smoke report tomorrow, all in all, this thing is nothing special even when it grows out how it should.
