Alaska RIU'ers... How did you end up in Alaska?

yeah but its not like i can go swimming at beach there without my nipples cutting through glass

no beaches to really swim, you're right, but the lakes get really warm when the sun is up 24 hours a day.Boating, swimming jet skiis, all that shit is a everyday thing for like 2 months, lol

But really its fuckin cold a lot,no doubt. My next move is gonna be tropical

I came here for a job a few years ago.Ended up buying a house through a handshake deal.Been here ever since.

I miss the days of a hand shake deal....:-) ... now a days...bring your Liar with you for everything....oooooops squse me....I meant Lawyer....shhhhhhhssss

My first time up here was a little over 20 years ago and I came up for work. I stayed two months and fell ass over tea kettle in love with it. Two years later began an annual 2 week vacation that went on for 17 years. Two years ago we moved here because of work. Yes the winters are dark, cold and long but there is snowmobiling, skiing, snow boarding, ice fishing, hunting for moose, caribou, bear, etc., and other winter sports. During the summer there is nowhere else that can compare to here; we have world class fishing, spring bear hunting, and world class beauty.

Funny you say that....since I started my quest for a chunk of land in Alaska...that reminds me of this realestate guy that was showing me a piece of property.....we get to the location....get down...he says ...well this is it....I'm looking around...I say to him.....well I cant see a dam thing...grass was so tall ...really , like seven ft tall....so I say to him....well lets go look around....he says...na....you go ahead...I look at him kinda puzzled...then I ask are there any snakes out here that can kill a man....he says....no...you dont have to worry about snakes out here...then says, in fact....anything that can kill you out here....you will see it coming for you....lol....so then I ask him again...well arn't you coming in here with me....he says nope....they call that seven ft tall grass Bear grass for a reason.....needless to say I changed my mind about going in there pretty quick......ok....thats my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!!!

Preach it buddy!!!!

Nah I don't remember them but Alaska is over twice the size of Texas with only about 600,000 people, so I can pretty well guarantee you not to run into the Palins - unless you go to the State Fair.

They caught Papa right on the stretch of railroad where I was working.During our work day !!!!.As for Todd Palin,I bump into him every so often. He is actually a low key, mellow, friendly type of guy.And one fuckin helluva snowmachine racer.IDK if anybody sees Sarah around town anymore

I see Todd all the time
(couple times a year anyway) I have Sarah's old Indy 500 snowmachine as a back up

Oh, I forgot about Arctic Man and the Alyeska slush cup coming up!! Ever see a skier doing 90+ mph? Gotta have steel balls to do that and we have "girls" that do it too.
