Alcohol For oils

I went through 3 bottles which lasted about 6 months since my Extract Craft Source recovers most of the alcohol. Getting there is my biggest issue. If someone uses that (Global) I sure hope they have a system that recovers most of the alcohol. ISO is easy to get shipped right to my door and much less expensive to use.
I was saying that global stuff was to expensive not yours. How do you like the extract craft, I've seen it, and have wanted to try it out. I'd love to reclaim my alcohol. Even if I did I think I'd probably use cheap stuff still since I've never noticed any difference.

Can you drink a bottle of ISO !
Don't think so.

If it isn't edible of fit for human consumption i don't use it.

the alcohol is reclaimed after first use to 99% and is reusable.

in any event i haven't made extract with it in a long time, have changed over to Rosin a while back.
no solvents, alcohol or anything needed. produces the cleanest you can get without going lab setups.

How about distilates?
Nope you can't drink ISO, so it's a good thing I don't drink my extracts. If I wanted to make a tincture I would obviously use good drinkable alcohol. Iso evaps cleanly and completely with ease and leaves no residue for you to "drink" or dab.

Since I'm not consuming any alcohol I don't care if its "designed for human consumption". It's a medical grade product that is designed to be totally clean.

If you're using a system to reclaim the alcohol then that's great, but that hasn't been an option for people until the last couple of years. Most of us learned how to do this before it was getting marketed to :). I wasn't trying to upset, just commenting on the very high price of that alcohol you posted. If you absolutely insisted on drinkable alcohol you can get bottles of 95% Everclear for half that price or less.

Rosin is awesome stuff too ;). I've had some super tasty rosin. I just havn't felt like investing in making it yet. I tried some simple hair straightener pressings back in the day when rosin came out, and just never got into going any farther.

Distillates are kinda boring in my book. I like natural terps rather then added terps, but I won't thumb my nose at any decent dab. I enjoy cannabis in pretty much all its forms.

I agree the distillates i've tried were uninspiring. And over priced for me anyway. Just didn't see the value or quality to be worth more.
They also are less terpy so less flavorful as well. The ones I've tried anyway but that is a limited amount I will admit.

@Thundercat. To be clear I used Global 94 last year, now I just use ISO. I cannot see the difference, is there a difference? LOL. The Source Turbo is awesome, worth every penny. My wife wanted nothing to do with oil if I had to make it in the slow cooker, but when I showed her the Source with a closed vacuum operation she was all in, not worried at all anymore. Terps are for sure uber important to me. When I smoke bubble hash it is like smoking a crayon, blech. No smell or taste.

Nice glad to hear the good review on the source.

There technically is a difference chemically in the type of alcohol, but no appreciable difference for our applications. If you wanted to you could drink the global, you can't drink iso. Like I said though I don't drink my extracts so I see no difference.

Perhaps you already know this, but for anyone who does not, you cannot drink Global or Everclear unless you severely dilute it. o_O

Lol lots of people drink everclear straight. Its not recommended, it is terrible, it burns like hell, and it can endanger your health, but lots of people do it. Excellent point sir ;).

Also @zoic how long would it take to wash a qp if you don’t mind me asking cause the good old rice cooker method is getting old and the neighbors aren’t liking the smell in the backyard lol:lol:

rice cooker will always be king unless you invest in some return equipment
doing halfs and p's are what makes it worth while.

I bought mine from Indoor Farmer, they gave me the best price at the time. When I checked a few months ago Toronto Hemp Company was the cheapest. I figure you are looking at $800+ one way or the other.

I can wash as much as I want but the Turbo crucible only holds about 325ml and takes 4+ hours to make the oil. I pour it off before it finishes and using my coffee machine warmer plate to do the final cook in a smaller, usable container. I have learned that I can store multiple run in the freezer and then run it all at once to get more output. Ask away if you want more info.

No, supercritical co2 is not an organic solvent

In order for a compound, or anything for that matter, to be an organic one the carbon must be bonded to a hydrogen ... also, in the case of organic solvents, hydrocarbons must be bonded to the carbon

So supercritical co2 can be used to make extracts
Good now you just need an 80k closed loop system...

You can always re add the terps you've separated from the isolate.
