AOC is representing an unabashed Progressivism, Tammy D is advocating a more moderate position.

It's a debate worth having.

I think the country has gone way too far to the right and what passes for 'moderate' Democratic positions are not nearly enough to get the country back on track to providing opportunity and prosperity for everyone.

Others may feel differently, so I think a frank, honest and civil debate would help a lot of people figure out where they stand- and crucially, help people figure out where they stand.

There alternative threatens to divide the Left against itself, which in the current climate would be an unmitigated disaster.

She won a fucking primary, dude.

What qualification/experience does she hold that would make her a good Rep? You're supposed to be selling your candidate to us, so far you just talk shit about how she's "the best".

What I see is you shilling for people like Sanders who espouse extreme left views but never actually get anything done or know how anything works, they just talk a good game to naive retards like you.

First; America does not hire politicians on the basis of 'experience' but rather a perceived willingness to fight for the issues most important to them.

Second, she's very clearly a quick study- I'm sure she'll do well.

Third, she's done more to shake up the Democratic Party than anyone else since Sanders' presidential run.

I can tell how much you hate those facts, Stinkydigit. And you have no answers outside of impotent screaming.

She's looking pretty solid for a victory in her district.

Her platform is definitely popular across the country.

She represents change, something the rest of the Democratic Party has studiously avoided doing for decades now.

In other words, she represents the Democratic voters in her district.

I don't care how much melanin she has or her sex or her profession.

But she could have run in local elections before trying to fuck around with the House of Reps, especially in a year where we need to stop the Republicans at all costs too.

Did they not increase the minimum wage? Lower the threshold for poverty so more peiple get assistance?

No, they didn't increase minimum wage. It's still $7.25/hr.

Lowering the threshold for poverty is a sad substitute for increasing their income and produces a pale shadow of the benefits. Worse, it ends up being a subsidy for ultra low wages that corporations pay their workers- who now have even more limits on their ability to bargain collectively.

Obamacare is a good start- but it was designed around preserving and benefiting the health insurance industry as much as it was about helping bring affordable medical care to all Americans.

I don't call that a ringing endorsement of their track record.

But you go on shilling for corrupt parties full of corrupt politicians and shitting on change- and then dimly wondering why you never see any.

How can you say Sanders did not get anything done. Do you realize he named not one, but two post offices. Do you realize how hard it can be to think of names. Just try naming one of your children. That can go back and forth for months. and Mr Sanders had to name post offices. Which last much longer than children, so it must be harder... right @ttystikk

People need to face the fact that "Centrist" Democrats are right wing, pro war, pro corporate control of government, pro corruption. This is why they have lost over a thousand seats since 2008, all three branches of government, and the majority of state govt. People know they are corrupt, are sick of them, and any blue won't do.
Personally, I think it'd actually be easier to form a replacement party than reform the dems. Those at the top know they'd lose their cash cow con if progressives are allowed into the party. Since they can make and break the rules at will, It goes beyond rigged elections and stacked decks. The Pelosi types will never willingly give up control.

Based upon their votes as recorded in Congressional Record, two-thirds of all Democratic party congressmen are progressives. This based upon facts and not subject to opinion.

Bernie's followers otherwise known as Progressives(TM) are cute in their naivete.
