Algae on top of root root cube

Hi ! I'm new to dwc . I do have a problem with one of my root root cubes , algae is start to grow on top of the cube , what to do ? Please help

block the light. depends what you have lying around. a piece of aluminum foil would work. white plastic sheeting.

How bad is a little algae on the top? I have always ignored it. I get it on the hydroton and rockwool. I tried putting a plate but it was a pain for me to do my regular checkups.

I have a plan for covering that for next cycle but should I take it more seriously right away?
