Looking great! Keep the pics coming, if it's anything like my Alien OG was you're in for a treat.

stay away from the DHN alien og though, that one sucks. Yields nice but smells like hay and won't get you high.

Damn, that was one of the strains I picked up this week :(

What was the lineage (breeder history as well, please) for your Alien, stabber?

Mine was from the same breeder as DHN's. Cali Connections is the creator of Alien OG. The DHN pheno you have is an alien leaning one, the good phenos of AOG are more OG/chem like.

I read somewhere that cali conn was working on a new run of Alien OG seeds, let's hope they drop soon. I also hope they use the exact same parents because the first run of AOG seed was simply amazing IMO. Keepers in every pack. Cali conn gets some real mixed reviews but I will vouch for their Alien OG, just a badass hybrid.

Awesome, thanks for the free education :D I realized it was CC about 5 minutes after I posted the inquiry as I perused your posts trying to find the answer, but good to know all the detailed info.

I'm excited to see where my $30 goes (2 clones), and I'm working with 11 other strains right now, so in the upcoming months I'll be pleased either way. I've got my fingers crossed on mislabels/harborside fuckery/etc. not being an issue, so wish me luck. I've got an aching to begin searching for my own phenos this year.

And for anyone curious this is what I'm working with, and where it comes from.

Strains from locale that I get straight from growing friends that I've been happy with
-Bubba Kush
-Green Crack
-Trying out a Larry OG strain

All clones below were picked up on 21 NOV 2013

Berkeley Patients Group
-(DHN) Alien OG
-Double Dream

Harborside Oakland
-(DHN) The White
-(MF) Trainwreck
-(DHN?) Purple Cadillac
-(QB?)Purple Urkel

Elemental Wellness Center
-(DHN)3x Crazy
-(MON)Blueberry Cheese
-(MON)Purple Platinum

I was a regular over at Grasscity for a while before I began seriously growing and have been reluctant to post any grow progress, but hopefully I'll get to know this community well in the near future. Cheers!

86/35 #2 Number 0 and 5 look similar with 0 being a little shorter. Number 5 has a great funk emitting from her. FTR As of the last week of August I had nothing in veg never mind flower so the race was on for a flip for a Xmas crop. These needed another month of veg, I would normally take these out 2 to 3 more weeks..

Figured I'd throw in my concurrence as I've already posted here. There is the school of thought that is often misunderstood that plants should be trimmed to disallow shadowing; your plants were not in need of this from the photos you've posted unfortunately :-| Plants can get quite "crowded" without the need for these kinds of attempts. You'll know when your plants are too crowded; don't second guess yourself.

Not trying to sound like a prick... just curious if either one of you has done this at 31 days? I haven't and the only way i'm gonna know for sure is doing it my self. New school of thought is that this will increase yield and health. I don't think the fan leaves are needed after the stretch is over. Seems to be plenty of leaf for the buds to get fat. Proof will be in the pudding tho.

1) Better ventilation
2) Better light penetration.
3) Condensed two 6K rooms into one for the last month.
4) 50% of the trim work is done.
5) Worst case scenario is that I have another crop 8-9 weeks after that. Shit grows like weed!

Yes, many have tried this including myself when I was learning to grow. Your plants will perform and yield MUCH better if you leave the fan leafs on.

And yes the proof will be in the pudding, unfortunately you didn't leave the fan leafs on a control plant to compare. You can learn from the mistakes of others or you can be like me and learn the hard way.

Same, also not trying to sound like a dick (Though I believe all involved are mature enough to heed suggestions and take any critiquing). I haven't done that strain/cut specifically, but that's not the real indication of whether either side of the discussion is correct or not. Read about others doing it, thought I'd try at some point, found out trimming at this point for that purpose in a grow was the wrong answer for me. I read plenty of posts from users agreeing with myself and Mr. Stabs, yet I decided to see the proof myself. Don't worry, mistakes one makes themselves are often the best lessons learned. Hope you take something away from every grow and every problem encountered along the way.

For solid data, one should do a straight A/B test if they are unsure if one way or the other is more or less effective. Again, I have found what you've done is not the right answer for me. I see the logic in it, but I've found that the plants benefit from having nutes pulled from the leaves as well, allowing them to finish the fan leaves off on their own. The article from HT posted above, even suggests testing various grows and strains for results before committing.
