All COB Users - Lettuce Grow Challenge!!

Please prove me wrong with photo documentation of some lettuce grown by yourself under cobs.
Are you saying my photo's and eyes with what I see in person are lying to me? lol
I didn't say you were a liar, but I'm not here to teach you reading comprehension, or the difference between winning arguments and trying to figure out what went wrong. I agreed it was a "sad fucked up little plant" and said there could be other explanations other than "cobs can't grow lettuce lol lol".

Anyway, enjoy your thread. I am uninterested in arguing about lettuce.

Purple where purple shouldn't be means the plant is producing anthocynanin, a pigment thought to protect against too much light. It would explain such a sad fucked up little plant, anyway. I mean, that is extremely unhappy looking, and blaming COBs doesn't make sense.
If you're going to parrot me again please learn how to spell anthocyanin. Shouldn't be too difficult considering the 'cyan' in it. Better yet, sthu pretending you have a clue about plants and stick to reading cob datasheets. Doesn't make sense... and you think you do lmao... Maybe he's not pushing stomata open far enough

I'm really sorry I hurt your feelings.

Bring it in, big boy:

You're about two years behind with your delusional projections and images WhoreHey. And you're unfortunately not in my meme league, no challenge there either. Ask church what happens when I start posting memes . The suggestion you are in a position to be able to hurt my feelings is as ignorant and ludicrous as the nonsense you spew about plants.

I do appreciate you for bringing up the citizens, and the tip for tape under the holders (though that whole thing is likely miscommunication...) too. So I guess you have a purpose after all, stick to that, or learn what makes a plant tick instead of parotting riu nonsense that fits your bias. It's just too silly to read botanical terms in your posts as you so clearly have no clue what you are talking about. Have you grown any plants with your leds yet?

It is interesting the distance to canopy with those led systems.
Also just an observation but you always see Incised leaf varieties and "baby greens" being grown under led. Not big beefy butter or other heads.

Yeah you're right. The smaller ones are typical especially for the vertical layered and automated grows. Plenty of larger ones under led too though, but then usually as supplemental light in greenhouses.

This a typical setup for "growing lettuce on water" (floating rafts), outdoors:

Possibly the most impressive hydro setup, in japan:

Sativied/Bubbleblower 2.0 knows it all, because a guy on reddit said so. And also Mars hydro if course. While the rest of the world evolved past blurple, the noob has reinvented the "wheel" and went blurple. Wood is best for wheels as we all should know.

The rest of us can just sit at a safe distance and see this mental breakdown unfold.

Ok Broski's, it's time to reset the discussion....
I kinda know how to grow a head of lettuce, I grow them like this - I grow them like that - been growing them for a long time.
I am a Grower, not a scientist or someone sitting on my nuts crunching #'s off some led data sheets.
Just a simple kind of guy looking for that magic 15-25W sq/ft light source that will get the job done. If that could be attained I would grow most all of my vegetables indoors under lights.

mikrodriplettuce.jpg IMG_9475.JPG

Now, I have been tinkering at this led thing for a bit and have not given up yet but could use some help from others at dialing this in to produce what lettuce should be.
Whoever unlocks this mystery I am sure will also be producing the most Fire Cannabis.
So, 4 seedlings as you can see in oasis - all the same variety.
2 Went to Hortilux Blue and 2 stayed under Vero 18 3500K
Now I have 2 looking just like this pic of each.
The led plants obviously have issues.
Both sets of plants are growing right next to cannabis as seen in the pic so they are not in 2 totally different non plant producing environments.
Anyone have any more insight on this or a suggested test for another batch?

how are the temps under the led? color, growth indicate cooler

The color starts popping out right away under the led so I do believe it is in the lighting and not a cultural issue.
I want to pick up a cheap blurple panel and some other varies led items for some testing of my own

When I get the next DIY light done you can borrow my blurple for testing if you'd like.

It does well for veg at least lol

 Crybaby, such butthurt. Ironic cause you constantly remind me of your buddy bubblegrower. "Noob"... geez, delusional parrot having done a few mediocre runs with crees. And I'm not growing under blurple simpleton. I grow under essentially high Fr WR, not BR. I'm growing under what "the rest of the world evolved" into. Similar to osram, cree, philips (ever visted a greenhouse here, ever talked to photobiologist...), the leds Maas bought, and many many other pro horticulture led lighting manufactures. Keep expressing that butthurt and projecting the illusion of knowledge, sooner or later you will catch up and see the light and realize every horticulturist on the planet is not wrong and you don't have a clue what you parrot. Trying to make it a simple black-and-white issue where it's blurple vs white is just :wall:

@PSUAGRO. you're a hypocrite for liking that post considering the light you use lol... or should I say misuse... at the same time posting about zelions. My light is inspired amonst others by the grow white version. As they know too and as you read in their brochures, burple for supplementing daylight, white for supplementing blurple/hps, for completing spectrum/working light, and mixed for a complete indoor growing solution. WR is the obvious way to go unless you know the perfect cannabis light recipe.

Gonna take this a step further and see I I can induce those symptoms on one that was growing under MH by moving it to the cobs
As you can see, the same 4 seedlings, 2 went to MH, 2 to the Vero 18's
Now lets see in a week if the MH started plant turns red and twisted and if the Vero Started plant greens up and resumes a normal growth pattern

Are you saying that about yourself? The way you are cursing and ranting it really seems like you do. Funny how you keep going on about parroting while you parrot "a guy from Reddit" like it's gods word.

All this just because I dared to claim that your "amazing findings from this guy on Reddit" might possibly be nonsense?

That is what I do though. I correct mistakes that people make in their posts. Annoying maybe, but I do tend to be right:
I said Reflectors lose a lot of light and PAR measurements made by Malocan in a 4x4 tent showed they do indeed (20% even in that case).
I said CRI 90 COBs will by definition produce less light than lower CRI COBs and PAR measurements from many sources have proven this correct.
I said colder color temperature COBs produce more PAR light than warmer ones and the same measurements showed that correct too.
I have said spectrum matters much less than quantity and several grow tests have already shown that correct. Rahz's McCree conversion showed the same.
I explained that PPFD matrices in dark rooms are useless for comparing lights and while at first I almost got burned at the stake for saying that, by now most here understand and agree. As did Gavita in their rebuttal of the Cree horti whitepaper.

I guess now I can add that CRI 90 Citizen COBs don't produce "high FR". Sunlight has about 1:1 ratio of Red:Far red. So that tiny bit of FR coming from a CRI 90 Citizen COB is nowhere near "high FR". Then you add a dozen or so of red mono's to the "disco ball" and you are basically left with something like 20:1 R:FR ratio. Even a standard Cree COB has a higher FR ratio.

Either way, I'm loving every minute of your mental break down man. Never seen someone go this apeshit on a forum before. It's really hilarious. Keep it up with the ludicrous insults which apply more to yourself than to anyone else. Lovin' it!

On a serious note, mental breakdowns aren't really funny. It's why I try to send positive vibes his way. The reality we perceive, and one filtered through mental illness are very different, and it's best to not engage too earnestly with somebody whose reality is legitimately different (and much scarier) than your own.

It's important to have sympathy for somebody who has to live that way. I learned that lesson the hard way in real life.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

Ok, this is just 3 days into the swap and the writing is on the wall with this project!
Anyone want to buy some Vero 18's and a Meanwell Driver? lol
