What’s up RIU this is my first post on forums since the fall of Overgrow. I’ve been up to a lot since then, mainly breeding my own strain.
All Female Jail
Rooms
Grow is at a former jail. It will only house females now, haha. It only has 12 cells, and I will be using all of them. Each cell is 6’x10’x8’. There are 6 cells on each side of the hallway.
Strain
This is my true treasure and the East Coast’s finest. I am growing my own strain I have been breeding for a few years. The mother is a Sour Diesel strain that has been passed around in Brooklyn since the 90’s. The father is OG # 18. Which is a more sour and higher yielding OG Kush. Out west they have a sour og they call Headband. Out east we have a REALLY sour og we call FIST PUMP! Sour Diesel-NYC Diesel, Headband-FIST PUMP. You see how I got the idea. Brilliant I know. I play poker with some guys that are boys with Situation. They all love the fist pump. I tried to get them to get Situation to try it, but he don’t smoke.
Lighting
I plan on running a flip flop with 18 ballasts and 36 lights at 3 lights per room. I am using Great White 6” AC reflectors. 1000w of course as everyone and there momma knows those are the most efficient. I will be using all HPS bulbs because HPS bulbs are much longer then MH bulbs, so they cover much more surface area. From my testing this is the best. I’ll also be opening window blinds in each cell during lights on to aid in light stimulation of the stomata to better help the terpens in the leaves photosynthesize. I am growing for the highest yield, of course.
Cooling
In each cell there will be 3 reflectors in-line each with 6” ice boxes for cooling. At the end of each run of reflectors/ice boxes is a 6” 450 cfm inline fan blowing into the hallway. The ice box water lines are all run into the hallway to a central manifold that runs outside. I put copper water pipe 6” below the ground and poured a 3 ¼” slab of a custom mix of heat transferring cement over top. So the heat from the lights goes through the ice boxes, transferring the heat, and then outside underground where it heats my new walkway which will never have snow on it. Then it returns back indoors to the inlet manifold for the iceboxes. The whole system is a closed loop recirculating system.
Hydro
I will be using 3’x9’ custom made white carbon-fiber flood tables. Each table will have 6x6x7 square pots, and 107 per table. I will be hand watering the pots with my own custom brew of nutrients.
Medium
Each pot will be filled with a special combination of hydroton, perlite, vermiculite, co-co, and promix bx. I use the bx as I find the promix hp makes the hydroton break down, creating dust. I believe this is due to the mycorrhizae in the hp being too concentrated. This mix is custom of course from years of research.
Nutrients
“If it isn’t natural, it probably works better” I have just perfected my own chemical nutrient regimen. Chemical is the way to go for nutes. If its organic that means it wasn’t engineered, and is natural. How is something natural going to work better then an engineered nutrient regimen? EXACTLY. I can’t share all my secrets but I will tell you a little about my veg nutrient stew. I have found that the best way to infuse nitrogen into the nutrient water is to use nitrous-oxide through bubble stones at about 400 PSI. I picked this trick up at a Phish show in Philly. (Shout out to the mafia, Phish Camden this summer was sick, and Atlantic City all I can say is “whoa” because that’s all I remember) I am sorry I am not comfortable sharing the rest of my nute mixing secrets, as some ingredients are not accessible to the general public.
Electric
I am not giving advice on this because it is dangerous and you should have a licensed electrician do it. My room has more then enough power and that is the way yours should be too.
I know I forgot a lot but that’s what questions are for. I obviously know everything so feel free to ask whatever.
On a side note I was out to Butte County recently and I want to say thank you to whoever bred the CaseyDawg. WOW, Casey Jones X Chemdawg you the man. I love that chem smell. Mmhmmmmm oh and also a shout to whoever grew greenhouse/hid assisted Blue Cheese this year. That shit was dense and is the best smell I have ever encountered.
