All good, til clawing leaves 1 week into bloom

Hey there, 2 months into my first grow as a medical patient in IL. Great selection of 4 strains have done unbelievable until recently. Blue Dream, Harlequin, Tahoe OG and Northern Lights have all done fantastic...textbook grows, until popping into 12/12 lighting and Blooming phase.

Tahoe OG and Northern Lights are still squatty little buggers looking like healthy little Hybrids/Indigas. However, since day one, it's been a vertical horserace between Blue Dream and Harlequin with a sudden curling of the leaves taking place on both. Looking for votes on what the problem could be isolated to just these two plants:

1) Root Rot - I'm letting them dry out right now as they did seem a little damp
2) Too much fert: perhaps Blue and Harle are more sensitive to nutes?
3) They are all gonners. take some clones and run!
4) All of the above

Welcome to RIU!

Please post pictures with that light off. I'm sure you can tell by looking that it's near impossible to get a good visual of the actual plants in the pictures with that light on.

Also, add the pertinent information about your grow. What lights? Medium? Temperature and humidity (lights on and off)? Nutrients in use? Water pH? etc.

I'll have new pics tomorrow as these are from my remote camera while travel.

Temp has rarely exceeded 80 degrees or lower than 67 degrees. Humidity remains in the mid 40's. See below.

I used Foxfarm Sea Blend and also have a Co2 bag hanging in the tent.

2 fans on the tent floor and carbon filter fan running at all times

I have a multi spectrum 2000w LED grow light. Ran 18/6 cycle for first 8 weeks from seed. PH has been at 6.5ish but have not checked in a few weeks because it remained steady

Now that's real claw. Those plants do not like a lot of N. I think the yield has already been reduced. I give them a 50/50 chance of getting any kind of decent harvest from them.

No chance of recovery? Followed fertilizing to a tee per package instructions. For future, should not follow mfr instruction and do I need to reduce once in bloom phase?

No chance this is root rot? Going to keep using plain water if that's what you suggest.

Thanks for the great news but hey, live and learn.

Top half of Blue Dream. Was the slowest grower between itself and Harlequin then nearly double the size of Harlequin in just a few weeks. Both are close to 4', BD slightly higher.

Cross view of 2 plants in front area of tent. Norrthern Lights closest to camera and Tahoe OG hidden behind it in this view. Both are ~ 3 ft.

All plants were topped and pruned 3 weeks ago

By Sea Blend do you mean The Ocean Forest soil? And those Co2 bags are basically worthless to begin with and you're sucking any Co2 out with your exhaust fan. Co2 needs to be done in a sealed environment.

The second set of pictures is no better than the first. all it shows is that significant claw which is almost for sure caused by overfeeding. That light isn't actually a 2000 watts. All that high tech monitoring, Co2 bags, and the plants are fried. Time to start learning about growing a plant instead of playing with toys. Sorry if that sounds rude but it's the truth.

Yes, that was rude, actually. I travel 90% of the time, need my medical requirements fulfilled at a lower cost and the investment will pay off in the long haul or until all states I travel to are legal. I love growing outside but this is my first attempt inside and with weed.

I don't see how a remote camera and temp monitor is going to fry my plants so keep your comments to yourself moving forward. They are useless to me and more of an opinion than knowledge of an expert.

You should stick to facts and science before offering judgement when you don't know the circumstance. Sounds like you have alot of time on your hands.

Might want to stick to Facebook for judging contributions.

Cheers!

Are there any real experts out there willing to offer assitance without arrogance please?

Carry on and welcome to RIU

looks like u nuked your plant with nitrogen using full power from ff and u got burnt I wonder why they just want your money but this has fucked your harvest that's for sure so good luck with the grow. little tip when they go into flower u should prob stop the nitrogen till it says it wants more. if u have grown a single plant u should know what to look for.

Thanks so much. Live and learn. Hopefully I'll get a few clones to survive and give a whirl next month.

Okay, here are all 4 plants after letting them dry out for a few days. Going into week 10. With so many of you saying Blue Dream got nuked and may not make it, I'm paying more attention to the other 3. Thoughts on the others? I will start adding nutrients again perhaps only using 33% of recommending dose. I raised the lights a bit to get better coverage as well. Left the Co2 bag in place unless everyone thinks that is sensless and possibly hurting things. It's only a 2x4 tent.

Questions:
  1. Never asked this, but with a carbon filter totally enclosed within the tent (inboud air internal, not ported from outside ), do I need to open a few of the tent vents? If so, which?...towards the floor, middle, or ceiling? I also reduced the carbon fan filter to medium speed.
  2. Do the plants look ok at week 10? We're in the 12/12 stage.
  3. I've kept the tent at <80° but now see it settling at 82°-83° and just around 40-45% humidity. Good?
  4. Lighting has multiple switches based on grow stage. I have both switched on for what they say is broadest spectrum and more reds? Anyway, the light meter hits 1000 right at the top of the highest canopy. Not sure what 1000 means. Lumens? Is that adequate?
  5. I guess, despite all my reading, I'm still not sure what I should be seeing at each stage. My calcs say we've got 55 days left until harvest so any feedback if they look on pace, please advise.
  6. I topped and pruned them a few weeks back while still in veg to encourage more growth. Does anyone think I may have overpruned?
Blue Dream: Replaced the soil and water with no nutes. Last Rights will be given soon :( Sad day, he was my favorite. Man,this guys was the top gun until last week.

Harlequin - Looks like some bud coming. Was growing faster but has since slowed

Northern Lights: Little guy, but making a comeback. Not sure about the big fan leaves at the top.

Tahoe OG: Staying squatty and healthy

As I stated in previous posts, this is my first grow for medical reasons. Please excuse my naivety. I travel during the week so that is why the fancy gadgets...I need to monitor remotely. As soon as I come up with an auto irrigation system, I'll be able have control of everything while on the road, accept pruning.

I am appreciative of everyone's thoughtful advise and tutelage. We all started somewhere and given the cost of flower at my dispensary, this will save me money after one good grow.

Someday I hope to help other newbies myself.

Thanks again!!
