How does this sound as a water only soil recipe using RO water? I'm new to the all organic water only game and trying to figure things out.
1 bag Roots Organic
1 bag FFOF
10-15lbs EWC
4Gal perlite
2cups Bone Meal
1cup Kelp Meal
2cups Blood Meal
3/4c Dolomite Lime
1/4c Epsom Salt

What size are the bags? You could be light with stuff.

Why RO water? Unless your tap is really bad, like over 200ppm, it is MUCH better than RO for soil in general, and organics in particular.

Bags would be 1.5ft^3 each. Should I be amending more?

And I use RO since my tap water is pretty awful. I'm pretty sure its at like 220... Is there anything I can do as a better substitute than RO or as a solution?

For 3cf:
perlite- might be good, it's an eyeball thing. If it looks like there's too much, it's just right.
Bonemeal-3 cups
Kelp-1 1/2 cups
blood- a light 2 cups. Easy to add more later via top dress.
dolo lime-3 cups and don't skimp!!
epsom salt- heavy 1/4 cup

Water might be ok as is, ppm's don't matter as much with organics. Or, mix 1/2 and 1/2, RO and tap.

Its basically what he told you to do so I would say yes ;), it's a good recipe! You may want to look into making compost tea along with the water at some point. Happy organic growing!

Awesome, and how long can I store this soil once I mix it up and whats the best way for me to store it? I'm only going to need about 10 gallons at a time so it'll probably take me at least 2 grows to finish this off, if not more.

aerate your super-soil occasionally, and it will keep forever. careful not to burn your roots; i keep my super-mix in the bottom of my container, and let the roots find it on their own. the top half i fill with regular potting mix, i support nutrition while the roots find their nutes, with kelp-worm cast tea. azomite and humic acid are great supplements to add to your super-soil; they are chock-full of trace minerals.

This is far from 'super soil', no where near that hot, pretty much a *standard* mix.

What *I* do is mix everything up dry. then put in 5 gallon buckets with drainage holes and then water it down. I just let it 'cook' in the buckets for a month or so and all I need to do is transplant when ready.

Mix up both bags at once and only wet down what you will need for this grow. You can wet the rest down about a month before you need it.

Eh, Wetdog's advice is sound. He has his mix pretty tuned in, there are many variations and we all have our preferred ratio's...
Exactly!

There is no real *right* with this, mostly trial, error, and observation.

Very much like making Chili. You have a basic recipe to start, but after that, it gets individual real quick, with the different seasonings (amendments) and such.
