Hello all . I have a 5x5 and 4x4 tent . Strains are going to be C-99 female seeds and ice bomb from bomb Seeds. My question is after solo cups what is optimal transplant pot????. Ideally I'd like to top , and LST then flower the majority . I plan on a 2-4 week Veg after solo cup . I have 39sqft of total space . What do you think ?

i'm no sog grower. i've seen a few, and had a friend that did sogs. he liked to utilize the entire footprint of his light. tents are a bit restricting. he finished in gallon containers. rule of thumb is, 1' of vert growth per gal. of medium. you should end up with a single foot tall (or so) plant with one big cola. a seasoned sogger, can net a good ounce per. it's a method to yield a good amount, in minimal time. i don't know your experience level. but it's not a way to go/grow, if you don't have a few grows under your belt.

As Silky said, one gallon pots. For sog it is also better to plant them directly in the 1 gallon pots instead of transplanting. Since the veg cycle is short, you want to try and not stress plants as much as possible. I've never done a soil sog before, but in my hydro system I fit 36 clones in a 3.5x3.5 space. No veg. I'm assuming since you want to veg, don't veg any longer than 2 weeks tops. Also lst and sog, IMO, do not go together. If you veg from seed for a month, 16 1 gallon pots would be a sog

Everything Alpha said is spot on!

I would also just add in a sea of green grow it's better to work with clones from a plant you have already grown out so you can work with the best phenotye, and have a better idea of how that plant likes to be grown. You want a SOG grow to be as uniform as possible.

Hmm. The C99 is a Sativa and the Ice is Indica.
Don't put them in the same tent!
As has been said, one gallon pots.
Flower the C99 early at like 5-6 inch's.
Flower the Ice at 8-10 inch's.

You will want to feed the C99 "less" then the Ice. Mix nutrients for both at the ratio needed for the ICE and water the ICE plants. Now cut the remaining nutrient by 50% and water the C99's with that. You MAY need to only cut them by 25%, but it is FAR easier to "add more nutrition", then to reduce it after the plant is damaged.

Be SURE to use only a QUALITY, well balanced soil. If you choose FFOF, add about 1/3 cup dolomite lime to every cubic foot of soil. Also add about 20% in volume of perlite to it too.

If your tray's are for ebb & Flow and you have the equipment. You could use cloth pots and employ the ebb system as I set a place up for this that grows peppers and herbs with a computer controlled system that does all the mixing and adjusting it's self. Just a thought!
