I'm trying to do a stealth PC case grow and I thought I was doing everyhting great, but all 4 of my sprouts that were about an inch tall died. I'm growing Lowryder 2 under 4 (9w CFL lights,is that the problem?) They were also in 4 inch small pots with miracle grow soil since I was waiting to see male/female to transplant them. I watered them about once aday so I thought maybe I was over watering them but idk. Im trying to make this work! Thanks

I'de replace with 23w lights. Make sure your buyng the right spectrum as well - 6500k or around there. Other than my current grow i've killed every one of my seedlings - 1/3 from over watering, 1/3 from over nuting, 1/3 from not enough light and prolly a couple due to growing in clear cups - oops! Good thing humans learn from their mistakes :)

over watering and over nuting were 2 problems i had. to check for overwatering you can put your finger in the soil around the stalk. (depth between 1/4 to 1/2 and inch) if your finger is moist anywhere but the tip dont water. if just the tip then its up to you. and if its completely dry water it.

as for the nutes i dont given them any until they are 2-3 weeks old and have at least 2 nodes. i over nuted some little ones and they were slow to recover, but if you keep an eye on them it should be fine. just be sure its half the dosage you would give to a normal plant if you use miracle gro.

mg soil is fine, but your young plants are fragile to much feeding will poison them and kill them. when you water mg soil it releases nutrient for about 2 months that is good and fine but if you water every day you inevitably burn the roots and they die.. this means switch your soil or water less if you find that your soil dries out to quickly get a larger pot to water less often.
if you switch to a topsoil without nutrients you can add your nutrients every 2nd or third water what ever they respond to.
with four seedlings I would definately get more lumens I like the big 65 w cfls at 3500K for flowering. I have never used cfls to flower but when you do my research says switch to a more red 6500k bulb. the red bulb will cause stretching during veg. if you are to cheap to buy two bulbs stick with the 3500k for both but be prepared for low yield and low potency

my first grow I remember I went from joe schmoe to green thumb when I got a hydrometer

i bet your problem was overwatering. if it was the lights they wouldnt all die, you would just have slow growth. mg soil isnt the best for ganja but again it wont kill all of your plants. i think more information is need for a proper assesment though, they all died can only tell us so much. what happened when they died? was it all simultaniously?

They were all leaning over and then shrivled up. The soil always seemed very dry so I probably watered them to much. Thanks for the help

its your soil man. i grow lr2s. with other strains they cn handle the miracle grow. i grew my lowryders in hydro and had to keep the nutes low so they could handle it. use very mild soil for lowryder. trust me thats what it was. they can grow under a 1 watt cfl. trust me. and under that 1 watt cfl you will yield .000001 gram. lol
