I will be doing a cabinet grow using CFLs due to space restriction and heating issues unless someone can confirm i could use a 400w hps in this size without too much hassle.

I have on my hands a bunch of light sockets, splitters, power bars, extension cords. So that is pretty much covered. Next on the list are the bulbs, temp+hum meter and PH tester that i am getting today.

Using ProMix Ultimate organic mix and starting off from some unknown strain clones to learn before poppin my good seeds and risk killing them from noobish mistakes hehe.

I've been lookin and lookin at nutes from store to store and this still confuses me. Most used ones i read about i cant find em in all the places i been and the lack of competance from employes at certain stores made me mad enough to fling poo at them like a monkey. So is there a dumbproof way of picking up good nutes? Anything for growth and anything for blooming?

Here are some pics of the cabinet that will be used. It can be split from the bottom of the doors so it is possible to do 2 seperate rooms in it or something if needed.

So what last minute stuff am i not covering? should i split the cab or use the full space? HPS out of question? Any input / tip is really apreciated, cant wait to start my grow journal =D

Yeah thats pretty much what i thought, i'd need a pretty good exhaust system to accomplish that and i'd rather save the cash to build a biger, better cab for a future grows.

Allready have 2 good fans for the inside and 2 pc fans on exhaust that should be good for a good CFL build (not shown on pics)

You'll need to get a timer as well, not sure if you mentioned it. When it comes to the nutes. Try and get some liquid nutes. High N for vegetative stage, and high P & K for flowering. But a good hydrostore will be able to sort you out.

Splitting the cab is always a bonus if you wanna make cuttings or want to flower seperately (just make sure no light leaks out of the individual chambers), but if you want bigger plants and more weed, use the whole space.

Did'nt mention but i do have a timer somewhere i can use. As for the nutes what is considered high? Most the ones i saw were 20-20-20 or verry low numbers as in 3 to 10.

The easiest way to start off with nutes is to buy an A + B type of mixture. If you can find it get something like General Hydroponics, something you can use in both veg and flower by simply changing the mixture ratios.

Thanks for the tip! I'm heading out in a few mins for the day and i'll be stoppin' by this hydro store that opened up about 30 mins of here. Sadly its the only one around and i hope they will give me a better service than what i had with other gardening places hehe. I'll report back later if i find anything good!

Using flairform greendream grow 1 part here and will be using bloom 1 part for flowering. As a first timer this stuff is great for the beginner as its ph buffered no stuffing up on mixing 2 parts and can be used for coco, hydro and soil. Dont run out and buy ya nutes until ya do ya homework man as ya still got a few weeks after ya start. As a noob i would start in coco with 20% perlite or small rockwool cups as it will save you the pain of over watering to a deegree which i had to learn the hard way. Then into large pots with coco and 20% perlite, i did 10% and it really needs a bit more drainage. After reading mammths grow i would go with canna Rhizotonic for the first few weeks before starting nutes, wish i did it to start with :( get ya self a digi ph meter it will save you some heart ache, ec/tds/ppm would be great but lol ill be holding out till next run because i dont wanna put to much on my plate :) Also read as many grow logs as you can as you can learn whats working and whats not It has help me tons and gl

Yeah i have spent hours and hours, days and days just reading grows on diff forums. Went to a store i was refered to that just opened and sadly they didnt receive all their inventory yet so the selection was really basic all they had was all purpose stuff and the MG line of products.

Well least i scored some good lights today, temp and humi meter and a ph tester. Got a bunch of 23w's 6500 and 2700, and 4 42w's 2x6500 2x2700 so i'll be set to surround the plants to light em up everywhere.

And like any stoner i got side tracked... And baught another bong for my collection haha. Nice hand made glass on glass one too! Pic will come shortly i guess lol.

Yeah i might have a flower room in a few months about 10x4. I was aking about HPs earlier because i just cant pass this great deal i can get on the lights, 2x400w HPS all included 200$ for both. So i will get em and hold on to em untill i can get access to the room later on. Hopefully i'll have at least a complete first grow or more before i can setup a bigger setup for the HPS room. Untill then its CFL in the cab. I'm not expecting anything from the first grow so that way whatever i end up with i'll be happy hehe.

last year i passed a yard sale and got my 430 watt hps for $10. but i spent a bunch on other stuff.

Awesome find for you i've been lookin at yard sales too lately hehe you never know what you can find. The lights i'll get is from someone that only used them for 2 months and switched to bigger ones so they are pretty much brand new. And i love how you split that cab up i was thinking of doing the same with the cab i'm using now when i'll switch to the grow room. A+ buddy!
