Other Comments: They are an non-profit organisation that collects and re-distributes genetics, from and among their members, at a self-serving cost. Basically for free! Because it is a member driven seed bank they have some rare genetics that you cant get ahold of anywhere else. However, membership is strictly by invitation.

first post but u've been a member since 08.. welcome out of hiding. i'm starting to think sites like these are set up by police. at the bottom of the page it says only 4 visitors, which adds to my suspicion. if theres anyone who can reccommend this who has more than 1 post and hasnt been a leacher here :P i'd like to hear more.

i'm keeping an open mind here, and im not trying to cast a shadow of a doubt. but i highly reccommend everyone keeps their antenna up regarding sites like this. i don't really understand why a seed bank has to be "invitation only" unless its a seed TRADING website. however, grower to grower is probably even scarier as the shipping guarantees really cant be THAT high.

Paranoia can serve you good. But, how do you know you can trust any seed bank? There have been rumors that the great seed banks have been working with the DEA and other agencies. Take the ICMAG controversy for example. It involves a number of well known breeders and BIG seed banks. Trust is a slow process that can be ruined in an instance. I personally place far greater respect and trust in this group of idealists then the, monopolizing, money grubbing seed companies...

I hang out at the scandinavian forums and registered here when I was working on a project of mine where the knowledge at my small pond wasnt enough. The AOS-initiative only started this year and I just thought I would help spread the love by sharing this project with the world. They are a bit like thepiratebay but with open source genetics. I think its pretty unique and awesome.

The "4" you see bellow is not a visitors counter. That is people who have donated money to their project. Its flattr.com! (That is an awesome project too!). Allourseeds is a member driven seed bank. The members pool their genetic surplus to share with others and in return they get access to a wide range of genetics. Member donate their surplus seeds and the allourseeds crew manage the shipping. I have received every order I've placed.

I dont understand your arguing on invitation only. It does IMHO make total sense. By keeping it "invite only" you filter the dickheads out and if they do seep trough you kill the inviting members account along with all the members he/she invited. Its a fail safe "Head of the hydra" type of thing.

you're obviously PRO-this invite thing, but if it's invite only..... logic deems you want to keep it small and trustworthy, not advertise it, right? to keep the "dickheads" out?

look at file sharing sites that are invite only, nobody goes around advertising them. i don't know what your strength is in business development but i think that you're going about it this the wrong way.

i see you spit a ton of flames, but still haven't addressed my main point. ICMAG is a very big publication now, so i am not surprised they are mired in controversy. so that doesn't really prove any point. if you are trying to parallel it to attitude, that's like apples to oranges.

i'm not paranoid, i have common sense. your post and arguments sound fishy to me, if i may be blunt.

With the invites you have a point. They are kinda new so I guess their logic is... "You gotta start somewhere!". Other then that I think my reply holds true.

With tingpoons critique in mind. Isnt there any one who find this project interesting? A platform for afficionados to share and access genetics for a self-serving price? I sure do.

I think it is a really good idea but I have no idea about how I would meet someone on the site to get an invitation thats probably why most people arent posting much....plus its against board rules to talk about trading beans anyways so people are just being safe nigga

Well... I shouldnt hand out invites here without the mods/admin blessing. It might be against the rules. Any mods/admin who might shed some light on the subject?
