I’m so f*ckin pissed. I got 20 regs from some guys growing some real good stuff. I won’t mention them by name, but their plants and flowers look amazing. 10 were Blubber Breath (Mobby Dick X Peanut Butter Breath) and 10 Nature Alleys (GMO Cookies X Peanut Butter Breath). The seeds all sprouted and the plants looked amazing. Big robust leaves with a nice deep green color and thick stems. They grew fast af! In about 4 weeks, The nature alley’s were over a foot and a half tall.
Yesterday was the begining of week 5 and while I was adjusting the LST tie downs, I noticed a few pollen sacks already hanging on one of the best looking plants! I quickly combed the rest, and found 13 out of the 20 to be males or herms developing pollen sacks on multiple nodes. I removed the males as I have no use for them, and I have 7 plants left with 2 being possible males as well, they had what appeared to be very small developing pollen sacks. I removed the branches that those possible sacks were on, and I’ll observe them over the next few days for more sacks developing.
I’m honestly bummed, I was expecting atleast 8-10 females, to then pick the best 6 to grow out and flower. Seems that if I’m lucky, I’ll be left with 2–4 females. All my parameters seem to be fine. I have a Mars Hydro 5x5x6.5 tent, 2 Vipar Spectra 150 Watt lights, 42-46% RH, 78-80F degrees, good ventilation.. The only thing I’m suspecting, is I did top the plants a bit soon, at the 6th or 7th node. But I have done this without issue in the past, and the plants didn’t seem to skip a beat, they strted developing their two tops almost inmediately. If anyone has any idea what may have happened, let me know!
